At the moment I am trying to decide which is depressing me more?

The ARU or the NBN?

The NBN is ahead, but only marginally.

However, according to my ISP, the problem has been with Telstra who is about to install a whole bunch of new parts in the exchange. One of them is some kind of circuit board thingo. Like a brain sort of thing. You know, like a thing that has to think and decide where to send everything.

Unfortunately, there are no parts that can be replaced in the ARU to fix the problem. No circuit boards. No new intelligent gadget that makes clever decisions.

Sigh. My first world problems are killing me here. I need a lie-down.

Oh there are far more depressing things going about if its a competition. This 'postal vote' on gay marriage. The civil & criminal negligence of our big banks. Stagnant wages. Ever increasing property bubble. Fucken North Korea.

Rugby dying is a happy distraction.

You seriously have your priorities wrong. Rugby first and foremost, all else is a distraction and something to fill the hours between games.

Stop. Make it stop.

The banks. Don't get me going.

I will keep my postal vote opinions to myself. We long stopped debating that sort of thing around here.

the top team in SA played against how many NZ teams before the final?

That really is a hollow argument by now and has been done to death. They played their schedule. Cruised through everyone else and beat the second best NZ team in the semi.

That would be good enough in most people's books.

There is no denying that they were the secodn best team in the comp. Any fool could se that.

Not in relation to anybody outside the Australian conference they don't. Zero wins against NZ sides and look at for and against. No different to any other Oz team. Try to be unbiased in your assessment.

No different for the Jaguares, Sharks, Kings, Bulls & Cheetahs.

Try and be consistent in your assessment. ;)

Hey Derpus, you know how you said the result will prob be known well before the judge announces it, why is that?
Because the court transcripts are available to be read and at times it will be obvious?
Other judges discuss it and give their likely outcome in private?
???

well... the Lions played the Hurricanes in South Africa, after the Hurricanes had already been on the road for the past 2 weeks.

Fact is, the best South African team never beat a kiwi team in New Zealand, arguably the hardest challenge in Super Rugby.

No doubt Lions were one of the top 4 teams in the competition, but had they played the Chiefs, Hurricanes and Crusaders in regular season, Away from home, their season wouldn't have appeared so convincing IMO

Ah, the judge will hand down his judgment to the parties in Court, which will have journo's etc in attendance who will report the outcome. The registry are just slow as fuck at publishing judgments on-line on time is all.

Watching kick and chase tonight and interview with kids and asking who their favourite player was - Israel Folau.

Israel high profile in 3 codes.yeh I get it that rugby wise my dispute his pay.but marketing wise on top no brainer..and suggest this is what professional sports about..

When do you stop prioritizing 'marketing', and start valuing 'performance'?

Three names: the Wallabies' Israel Folau; The Gold Coast Suns' Gary Ablett; The Gold Coast Titans' Jaryrrd Hayne.
IMO, all three are over-paid, under-performing so-called "stars", who are well past their best when it comes to match day, but too expensive to sack!

Ideally, always.

Unfortunately, when you go back to being an amateur sport.

Maybe but izzy from an attack perspective can make something happen. still one of our best backs imo. Yes I suspect part of pay is marketing value related but overall that is what you pay for re: things that attract fans and gets bums on seat.

So whats your point. The Stormers beat the Chiefs. If you want to get the answer compare SA teams wins in Australia vs Aus wins in SA?

Anyway this whole competition will die when SA move to the NH. Thats where our future lies. SupeRRugby died the day ONeil changed the format.

I have to admit, the prospect of South African teams playing in Europe would be pretty exciting. So many benefits not least that the switch should push more money and SA players back into SA clubs.
