WJ, it is stupid to compare the time required to chair a gov advisory board with that of a publicly listed company that is worth over $3billion.
But you know that.
Yeah, it's opinion. In my game, and many others, expert opinion is generally what wins. That's all I'm saying. Some who have presented here could be deemed to provide that.
Isn't the GG role taken by Paul McLean?Inside Shoulder,
I can see it from both sides - or at least in my own warped mind I think I can.
Couldn't we take a lead from politics (as stuffed up that that is) and have a Governer General and a Prime Minister.
Rugby is currently missing a genial elder statesman type Governer General role. Largely ceremonial and advisory role that gets out and about and has green grass in their blood and oval balls.
The Prime Minister role is to be performed by a person who is an astute business person, commercially savvy negotiator, HR expert, juggler, and chess grandmaster.
Presently our CEO (JON) fulfils many of the PM roles above. We are lacking someone performing in the Governer General role.
I agree with you, I'm just saying, I'm not trolling asking for proof or questioning why that opinion automatically means John Oneil is not performing his duties at the ARU.
Can we agree that someone isnt?
Can we agree that its more than one person?
if we agree on this - how high up is the highest person who isnt performing?
Who appointed him/her?
So you have moved on from the proposition that the time he spends at Echo is not substantial, to how can he travel and still fulfill his obligations to Echo?
Not really the same at all. Same job, different geographical locations, and generally all allocated time blocks within the framework of my working week. It's like JO'N having meetings, trips, etc in different cities and countries in his capacity as CEO of the ARU.I agree with you, I'm just saying, I'm not trolling asking for proof or questioning why that opinion automatically means John Oneil is not performing his duties at the ARU.
If someone came on here and said you working at more than one hospital means that you lack the time to adiquately care for patients at each, your response would no doubt be that you divide your time up according to need and delegate to staff to follow through on orders. (I say this as someone from a nursing and administration background, I know not expert medical but in the ballpark) is it not fair to say that someone doing two jobs in a different field could do the same?
I dont think El Presidente/Chairthing is a paid positionIf it is Paul McLean (ARU Chairman I suspect) then perhaps we should be directing some advice/poison his way about getting out to Shute Shield games, Subbies changing rooms, Junior state champs, Womens Premiership games etc..
Get JON in the engine room or on the bridge keeping HMAS Rugby going in the right direction with the correct quantities of fuel, ammunition and rations ordered for the grew, with Fleet Admiral McLean doing all the Schmoozing and bell polishing.
Neither does JON discharge all the duties of the ARU. Part of his job, and mine, is to delegate aspects to others, and in the smooth course of most cases, my daily input is not required. If there is a problem, it's no good me ignoring the problem and letting it run to ruin because I am busy doing a separate job. It is my responsibility.Cyclo - was alluding to the fact as a doctor, you can perform an op, yet not be there for everyday of a patients hospital stay, instead visiting, giving orders & writing plans to be carried out by others. Time management, something becoming a chairman apparantly takes away from people.

There isn't actual proof or examples of any conflict or problems at all that have been created since June are there?
Here you go: Cooper.
