Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 22nd March 7:30 PM Allianz

Looking at this season, Noah hasnt played much. Didn’t play well last night and was dragged earlier than usual. Lynagh looked good against the Tahs, not so much yesterday and Donaldson has had his moments early too. They are our best 3. Can’t see JOC (James O'Connor) getting a gig v Lions unless for utility value? Donaldson’s ability to make a break and his pace sets him apart although defensively can be caught out. That goes for Noah too. Lynagh tackles well but being so small I worry about him prone to concussion. Appeared to cop a knock last night that wasn’t reviewed. Goal kicking by Lynagh and Donaldson has improved this year which I felt was the reason Noah kept ahead. Keep improving young men.

I can completely see JOC (James O'Connor) being brought into the WB squad and with our current crop of 10s it isn't hard to imagine him making the field.

Given a rails run at home to start, for sure, but they will have to be pretty amazing on their travels from here.

Remaining matches:

Hurricanes (A)
Moana (A)
Chiefs (H)
Drua (A)
Brumbies (A)
Reds (H)
Crusaders (H)
Force (A)
Blues (A)

I have winning as few as 3 or 4 of those.

I’d be very surprised. A backward step imho. I can still see him coming in for Noah in the last two Tests v England a few years ago in Australia as the ‘experienced’ saviour and playing terribly. Gotta back our youth.

I thought we had lost it when Grant kicked the f*cking ball away

Great win
Someone else made the point earlier on the thread but I don’t disagree with the kick it was more so the execution of it (which is quite often Australian rugbys achilles heel). The defence had been good all night.

I think it is a compliment to Luke Reimer.

I assume the general thought was maintaining possession for 2 minutes was a harder task then getting field position and backing your defence.

Personally I think it was an okay decision at the time and they got the bickies so well played.

With how busted our 12 options have been, I can see James being part of the squad to help guide the inexperienced Donaldson and Lynagh whilst also providing cover for 10, 12, 13 and maybe 15 if needed

You can't blame Noah for being hassled by an aggressive in your face defence

It is what happens for the Wobs most weeks

You can blame the game plan

There is an old maxim, you have to earn the right to go wide

This photo isn't conclusive at all. You need the other camera angles to see when he has ball contact in relation to his foot placement at the same time. He doesn't carry the ball anywhere near the line but rather bats it back into the field of play. At the point of his foot being planted on the line I can't see if he has yet made contact with the ball. In fact I can't even see the ball from this photo period. His foot comes off the line shortly after this still/photo. Is it possible he was on the line, sure, but this photo isn't evidence of this. The TMO would need clear evidence to overturn a try.

Great performance from the tahs. Just looked like they wanted it more than the brumbies. Didnt look as polished as they did against the force but just out-scrapped their opposition. Still not sold on their title prospects but i reckon theyll be tough to beat at home.

Thought Tupou had his best game in blue. And i definitely think you can see him finding form as his fitness improve week on week. Played 50 minutes last night, most of season i believe.

Gleeson and jorgsenson continue to be the stand out in the team for me... both should be locks for the lions series at this rate.

Uncharacteristically flat performance from the Brumbies. Kinda blew it. Id have them as favourites in the rematch because i still rate the brumbies as the better contenders.

The criticism of noah is a bit much. Wasnt great but neither were most of the brumbies players. The suggestions of JOC (James O'Connor) playing 10 for the wallabies is really dumb. Thank god schmidt isnt a moron.

Nah in all seriousness the Tahs looked much better.

It still doesn’t change the game last week though where they got spanked. If McKellar can pickup these away games coming then maybe I’ll upgrade him from peanut status.

Having more parity across the Aussie teams is obviously great for the competition. But in some of these games it is seemingly more the case of one of the teams being significantly off their game whilst the other plays error free footy.

I don’t think I’ve seen an Aussie v Aussie game this year where both teams have played at an extremely high level throughout.

For me Gleeson, Teddy Wilson, Leota and Jorgo were all huge. I also liked what Reilly and Kellaway brought to the table. At the beginning I thought Toole was going to play all over Reilly. I was wrong.
