Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 22nd March 7:30 PM Allianz

Classic NSW bias, claiming the tahs as the wallabies again
Ah, I love it! Honestly though there is some tough competition this year for Wallaby spots particularly for spots which the reds have had a mortgage over for a little while. I do expect Harry Wilson to keep his position being Captain of the Wallabies and I have been a huge fan of his for a while. Gleeson however is having some huge games. I also expect the Red's beloved McReight to keep his spot and again although a Tahs man I am a huge fan of McReight particularly in the last couple of years since he bulked up a bit. Yet Tizzano has also bulked up a lot and is playing the best rugby of his career so far. Yes, I am aware Tizzano plays for the force and not the Tahs. And as for the No 9 position once Gordon leaves, McDermott may not be a shoe in for the 9 spot as Teddy Wilson if he plays like he did on the weekend will be hot on his heels.

Not only that, I think it's an opportune time to annoint the Tahs as the likely SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) champions for 2025. Conversely, the Brumbies bubble has officially burst, it's all going south for them from here.

I agree largely with the gist of your message as well, I don't think Adamson is eligible but certainly the other 22 players should all be in the match day 23 for the Lions series.

This is my gripe with the player voting system; Tom Hooper was not the best player on the ground this match; that brain-dead yellow card alone confirms that, but because he stands out above the other Brumbies players, he receives the most votes from this match.

NSW Waratahs v ACT Brumbies
5 - Tom Hooper (BRU)

4 - Teddy Wilson (WAR)

3 - Triston Reilly (WAR), Joey Walton (WAR), Nick Frost (BRU), Allan Ala'alatoa (BRU)

1 - Lawson Creighton (WAR), Andrew Kellaway (WAR), Len Ikitau (BRU)

Same could be said for the Force game... 2x Drua players should not earn more points then a Force player in a 52-15 thrashing

Western Force v Fijian Drua
5 - Elia Canakaivata (DRU), Etonia Waqa (DRU)
4 - Carlo Tizzano (FOR)
3 - Mac Grealy (FOR), Nic Dolly (FOR)
2 - Ben Donaldson (FOR)
1 - Iliasa Droasese (DRU), Tuidraki Samusamuvodre (DRU)

Forgot to add, in all the discussion of Leota's seagulling, he did some pretty impressive defence too. There was one piece midway through the 2nd half that Leota tracked and tackled T. Wright, who offloaded to Toole, Leota then scrambled off the deck and managed to get to Toole and make a tackle in as many seconds.
I wouldn't label it seagulling in the sense of avoiding the tough stuff and wanting glory as it seemed pretty deliberate to have a big man that can move on the charge.

Yep. McKellar was vague in the press conference, "not long term". So I'd assume it'll be about 4 weeks or more, since that's what he said about Sua'ali'i as well.
Likely he didn't have a good gauge on it at the time being a late withdrawl. Hopefully after proper assessment and scans if done we'll see a timeline put on it this week. Heaven was bloody good though when he got on. With Mahe going down Dobbins will likely get onto the bench this week for a debut.

The Pete Samu role.

Haven't really paid much interest to these ratings, and based on the above, unlikely to start now. The above seem ridiculous. That said, I thought Hooper was pretty good, apart from the brain fart WWE move.

I've rewatched the game as I was munted when I watched it Saturday. The NSW defensive effort was ENORMOUS, from everyone. If they can keep that focus and physicality they can definately cause the Hurricanes some troubles. How many years has Langi Gleeson signed for o/s? He is in devastating form and is a massive loss for Australian rugby. Thankfully he is only young and hopefully will be back in his prime.
The big issue remains our attack, still too much aimless kicking, instead of mid field bombs maybe go for more 50/22s. Tupou has copped alot of criticism but i thought he had one of his better games. His nice hands to Leota was sharp.
Other player I'm really growing to like is Hugh Sinclair, yep hes not big enough but he is all heart and just gives absolutely everything for this team.

With Sualli back this week I'm turning into a believer. I think we can finish top 6, with this weekends game probaly the most crucial of the year for the Waratahs. A win here see's potential top 4.

I wouldn't have thought Hooper was the Brumbies best but then I'm not sure who I would pick instead. I thought he was busy without being overly effective (which I think is the general criticism of his play, particularly when it came to the Wallabies).

It's just an inherent problem with the 3-2-1 system where both teams are given the same number of total player of the season points regardless of the result.

From these votes it's interesting that the Brumbies must have both given Teddy Wilson 2 points and each picked Reilly and Walton as their player of the match respectively (with the other person awarding the other guy's player of the match zero points).

Also, WTF is the deal with Langi Gleeson not getting any points? Surely the performance of the Tahs backrow in particular was the key to the match. Leota got MOTM at the ground I believe.

With the defensive ability they're now showing, they should just be kicking deep and challenging teams to start from their own 22, rather than these remarkably low percentage midfield bombs.

Its the tactic brought in to unleash Sua'ali'i; its just been missing one component - Sua'ali'i...

Error rate on receiving is so high in Rugby I understand a bit of the mentality of the mid field bomb but I don't like it. You create a broken play scenario if you get the ball back which is a pretty 50/50 chance. Have been impressed by how well Kellaway and Jorgo have been able to contest these kicks not being the tallest guys with JAS out. I'd like to less of it though.
