Sarel has just confirmed on Twitter he is leaving the Tahs for the Cheetahs.

Probably a good thing for all parties.

Still there

Robinson, Kepu, Tilse, Ryan, TPN, Fitzpatrick, Ulugia, S Timani, Douglas, Peterson, McCutcheon, Hooper, Dennis, Palu, L Timani

McKibbin, Hart, Barnes, Foley, Carter, Hodge, Horne, Turner, Mitchell, Betham, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Crawford, Kingston

Would mean Matt Lucas is EPS. Definitely need another lock and probably a 10/12 or backrower. Way too many outside backs imo.

Thanks
Peterson must produce in 2013, Hart, Ulugia and McKibbin just not up to Super level, Mitchell to be fair is gone for 2013, Carter is back up fodder at best, assuming Foley plays 10 who will play 15, and agree with need for lock and another backrow fetcher.

I think Ulugia has done pretty well, he is never going to be first choice but he hasn't really let the side down at all.

Carter is a first choice superugby player and used right as seen in the past can both defend with the best of anyone, breach the advantage line with the best of anyone and score try's with the best of anyone at that level.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is fullback.

Let's just hope Fitzy is over his injuries..

That was just the 30 squad they mentioned, he'll probably be EPS with Lucas
I think the last 4 standing in he Shute Shield cold combine a back line that would more than compete against the above.

I think Ulugia is an excellent squad member as a 4th choice prop and 3rd choice hooker. His ability to play both positions really makes him an asset.

I thought it was pretty telling that he was taking the field at prop ahead of Tilse at the end of 2012.

People must remember Tilse is solely a LHP option. Ulugia is only an option at THP if Ryan or Kepu are out injured or replaced he is not a LHP option.

Robinson played every game last year and with the injury to Ryan mid year opened the chance for Ulugia at Prop. Currently Tilse is our 2nd/3rd option at LHP seeing if Kepu switches sides and Ulugia is our 3rd option at THP.

Mitchell to be fair is gone for 2013,

Mitchell tweeted today that he won't be needing surgery. Also posted a video of him running around.

"My tendon is still ruptured but there's a twist, It may have been that way since early this year. I'm back running with no pain or awareness"

Hopefully he gets his ankle to 100% not 97% or 98%, so he can have a full comeback season with the Tahs next year.

Drew Mitchell was on the ABC coverage of the Shute Shield today. Apparently won't be out for 12 months. He said his tendon was ruptured earlier this year and not in the Bledisloe match. Already back in training and no need for surgery at this stage.

Rob Horne was injured again during the Shute Shield semi. The commentary said his right hamstring was torn. So out for the rest of 2012.

Hope the Tahs coaching team saw this game.

EDIT: sorry, didn't see the above posts about Drew.
