The Tahs need to find a way to quarantine the goodies from those infidels interstate. Sio could have been anything for the Tahs in another four years.

the tahs cannot keep all the promising players that emerge (I deliberately refrained from saying "produced" because the NSWRU and ARU do very little to help foster juniors): the problem is the tahs do have a habit of picking the wrong emerging junior.

Regarding the EPS squad

Trist is a handy club footballer: I doubt he is a S15 player. More importantly he is 29 - what is the thinking behind giving a 29 year old a "rookie" contract?
here's a prediction: this contract system is going to make league's job of poaching the promising juniors easier if the tahs are going to offer a rookie contract to a 29 year old.

Please refrain from huge quotes when this is all you had to say. It takes up space for no reason.

Thank you.

Am champing at the bit to get out and see the tahs rip it up next season. The team is looking good and I think if we remain relatively injury free we could take this comp by the balls.

I also need to know how many rats tails big Sita's little brother has? If he has 3 you know he's going to be good.

Fantastic: 30 September and the first Fearless Tahs Prediction for 2012. The Tahs have been promising me something since the 70s and they have always looked threatening around September and they have never ever ever ever done anything like winning a comp - hence the absence of their logo in my signature: i can no longer stand the frustration of following them. As my then 8 year old said after a typical 2nd half capitulation to (I think) the lowly placed 'Canes, which I also think they needed to win for home semi, at the SFS one night "Dad why do we have to follow the tahs? why cant we follow a decent team"

Then u should have told your son what it means to be a fan.Tahs fans are crap, either commit or move aside. They were the best Aus team head to head in Aus last year, this year could be anything.

Very happy to see Lotu Taukeiaho get a spot. Some may remember he was the rock at THP in the final rounds for Randwick last year when they smashed the Woodies in the semi. He is a god prop and very solid defender. Not as mobile as some but definately somebody worth developing.

I wouldn't be surprised either to see Grayson Hart get elevated to the bench next year.

I suspect I was committed since before you were born - watching them lose to Waikato at Concord...losing to QLD year in year out......I have seen it all before. Only in my later years as I have seen it again from the bottom up (juniors) and met the "development officer" have i come to the view that the problem is inside the tent and right up near the head table. God help foley.....I mean they even doubted Rod McQueen back in the early 90s....so dont give me this rubbish about commit or move aside - they owe me far more than I owe them: season tickets in the in goal area while the half way is empty and no response to my questions as to why that would be.....queries as to the lack of NSWRU advertising season rego for juniors with a reply insisted upon by the top of the ARU: 2 emails and "Im too busy to deal with this"...taking the $400 per season for my kids anyway. A living breathing joke for more years than theyve been disappointing in the s 15, s 14, s 12, s 10.
If instead of worrying about playing embarrassing dead rubbers at ANZ they spent some time teaching kids the fundamentals: how to put a pass in front of a bloke for a start then they might live up to the potential they threaten to have.
All this premature backslapping - and god its so premature: we havent even finished season 2011 and blokes are talking up 2012, as if 2011 never happened....
"Best Aus team head to head" - is there an award for that? They have been molly coddled soft cocks with an attitude problem: bringing back Rocky has the potential to perpetuate this situation, though i accept that his relationship with Foley may defuse the problem. Waugh was kept too long and Burke was let go too early.........
Its a game of inches and the inches are all around us but the Tahs are miles short of the mark.

If the Tahs cannot win the Super title with that squad, they never will.

Injury killed us this season It all depends on keeping the key units on the field & fit. Barnes in particular

If we keep near our first team fit and out there, we will be competitive with the best teams.

I look forward to seeing Pretorius sniping the short balls in close off the pigs and seeing Barnes fit and managing the game

You have to expect injuries: but lets get the excuses out of the way now

The Wicks smashed the Woodies? I did not watch the whole game, just the last few minutes, but it seemed to me that the Woodies almost snatched the game, notwithstanding the atrocious lack of sportsmanship by the Wicks in flying a player in from another competition.

Still trying to re-write history, first it was whinging about stacking a team with super players yet the Woodies fielded more Super players. Mananoa (Sp) was brought in when injuries to Maxwell, Chisholm, Elsom and other basically meant that there wasn't a fit second/back row in the club able to step into first grade.

I should correct myself, I meant with my smashing comment specifically the scrum. Most people were expecting a front row including Fitzpatrick, Alexander, Robinson and Dunning through the game to dominate a trio who played the whole 80 in in which Kepu was the only super player. The gfact that Kepu dominated Alexander and Dunning was why I still think Deans was playing favourites for taking him on the EOYT instead of Kepu.

when did reality become an excuse ....................................

no side wins the S15 when they get deep injuries in specialist positions and/or to their playmakers.

the Tahs had both this season

the thing that made the Reds so potent this year was being able to have Cooper & Genia on board for the majority of the season, the same with the Brumbies in the Gregan/Larkham era and the Bulls with FDP & Steyn and Carter & Ellis with the saders

for the sake of the discussion lets assume youre right about 2011......how about the other 29 of, say, the last 30 years

Even if the tahs didn't have all the horrible injuries, they still wouldn't have won playing the style of rugby they were playing. Their execution was too poor.
