Bench - the Tahs scrum went a bit poo-shaped when Kepu came on last night and he's been a bit of a pot plant around the field. Ryan had one wobble early and then started to dominate Franks. His problem has been consistency, and I honestly think the bigger problem is Skelton should be packing tight on our feed and loose on the opponent's in order to stabilise and dominate respectivley.

At this point, lock in the following for the Wallabies:

2 Moore
6 Fardy
7 Hooper
8 Higginbotham
9 White
12 To'omua
13 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14 Honey Badger
15 Folau

Really didn't we smash the Scots in the scrum pretty sure we had a 7 man scrum take apart a few NH scrums particularly we smashed Italy in the scrum..

Its this train of thought that were the worst front row in the world that makes ref's pre judge us and cop it.. We ain't the best but we are far from the worst.

Scrum smashed Ireland, Scotland and was even vs Wales & Italy and England. It's so not as bad as people make out.

Fair enough, I'll have to watch the last two games and reassess.

You'd have to be locking in Simmons as well then, no? A necessary evil.

I reckon outside of Moore, Hooper, Izzy and Fardy it all looks pretty open. You'll notice a similar thing here and on other forums where the "certainties" people name are pretty widely divergent outside those 4. Fardy's position is unclear too. The rest are getting a little clearer but remain unsettled.

The props are anyone's guess. I'd say Slipper is likely to be one but not 100%.

The incumbent locks are being outplayed by the up and comers. Both of those spots are wide open, with Fardy a possibility to slot in there instead of the flank if need be.

I'd be leaning towards Higgers but Mowen's status is still a query and Cliffy and McCalman are also common alternative suggestions.

White is probably leading Genia by a whisker but that remains unclear.

Cooper and To'omua could go either way, or even both have some show if To'omua plays inside, where he meets stiff competition from his Brumbies teammates.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) vs Kuridrani is a coin flip.

Tomane/Cummins/Speight/AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) are all wing options with no clear leader.

I'd suggest McCalman is ahead of Higgers at the moment.
Cummins is an 11 not a 14 and he probably isn't in great form.
To'omua may well end up playing ten, given Quades form, but Link likes Cooper and can hopefully get the best out of him. Ditto for Genia at 9.

Ah but look at where the debutant lock was packing - shoulder totally in the wrong place, and any prop in world rugby would have been caned with no second row report. What was his name?

young Tom Staniforth

Ah that's the bloke. Thanks.

Based on being a hard, straight runner who can break tackles, cover ground quickly, defend, and score tries through sheer single-mindedness? Yeah you might have a- no wait, you don't.

Round 1 of super rugby I would have laughed my arse off at this next comment.....

The rate Will Skelton is improving I would put him in the reckoning for some role within the wallabies eithier this year or next.

There's better locks.. Carter Jones Douglas Simmons Horwill and even Wykes.. Tonight Skelton was good but he needs a lot more to be a Wob..
