What particular aspects of his game this season are below Test standard? Who would you select, out of interest, as the Test 9s?

His passing? Who gives a shit really, why are we rolling out the tired old "is Burgo up to it" conversation. He and Genia are the two best Australian halfbacks by a country mile. One has a better pass and the other is more physical with a lesser pass. Depending on tactics and injuries they will both play equally important roles come RWC time. They're all we (the Wallabies) have got.

No fair enough, it was just what I thought I saw in the game live - I will stand corrected! Is there a hands up emoticon?

I've unwittingly become seen as a defender of Alexander's scrummaging prowess, definitely not my intention. Although subconsciously I was maybe hoping our incumbent Wallaby prop wasn't getting owned again.

Although, this would have been at LHP anyway......what a mess. I blame player power.

Better for our hope for thp to own a possible lhp than the other way around.

Interesting to see how much lower Beau Robinson is bound as well, compared to the Brumbies flanker in all of those shots.

What is wrong with Benn R from thw Tahs - I know reported calf injury but if ok to sit on bench he is right to play full game. Are others playing better and keeping him on the bench. IMO the Tahs NEED him doing what he does best and not warming the bench

until the crusaders game the tahs havnt need benny, so there was no reason to rush him back, he didnt play trials and they were using him off the bench to get his fitness back and give kepu game time.

i dont think kepu has been that bad, but benn is the better player hands down so sure the switch will come in due course.

Who else could be there is irrelevant in judging his ability or lack thereof. He's been tried and utterly failed. Move along.

I'd redirect you back to cyclo's main question - "What particular aspects of his game this season are below Test standard?"

Setting aside the contention of 'tried and failed', I'd be interested to hear your answer to this.

Haha - not at all. I will think twice before be-smirching the Tri-pod again though.....

It is just so rare for a Qld scrum (okay scrummager.. the whole scrum may not be there) to show any sign of dominance over the opposite number. :) Tri pod aside where they high fived parity, it is pretty exciting for us Queenslanders to not be smashed in the scrum every week. Speaking of the tripod, you would think that Laurie Weekes would question his decision to leave the "success" of the tripod for a bench spot at the Rebels...

I'm hoping that there is only 1 Brumbies player in the starting 15.

I hope you mean Palmer or McAbe. No other Brumbies has covered themselves in glory, though AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has been his usual solid consistant self.

Yeah, a shame for Laurie I agree but the bloke had a better offer from Mexico or no loyalty, whatever. QLD has at least status quo with Slipper stepping up big-time, Shep on the doorstep and Holmes just ready for either side of the scrum.

The Wallabies captain is a pretty safe bet

I thought it would have been fairly evident from my post that he shouldn't be. IMO on form he hasn't been the best 6 in Oz for some time, and while his proven playing form is at a much higher standard than anything displayed by any other 6 or potential 6 Oz has that proven form was a long time ago (pre-Ireland).

They are actually 2 separate questions, hence I punctuated them as such. I note you seem unable or unwilling to actually answer either.

Just on Elsom, I have been wondering how much of his lack of form since returning from Ireland is due to the long term injuries he always seems to be carrying now.

He left Oz as the premier 6 in the World and would now struggle to be named in the top 5 or 6 on recent form IMO.

I rank at least all of the following four ahead of him on recent form and there can be valid arguments made for others such as Schalk Burger as well.
1) Juan Smith
2) Kaino
3) Adam Thompson
4) Dusatoir

Out of form? Yes. Will he still be there? Yes.
