Can Horne be taken apart and then put back together again? Surely he's over his 'growing pains' or whatever that was apparently causing his lower back injuries? Don't you stop growing around the 20 mark? These guys should do yoga or something.

he hasn't had a "tight" hamstring for quite a while, his only issue lately was his elbow

Can the selectors please give up on Rob Horne already?! He may have a lot of "potential" and have a few flashes of talent, but that is all useless when he can't string two games together without getting injured. The Wallabies would be better off focusing on developing players who can stay healthy as a 13. That way the backline can develop some combinations and consistency instead of throwing Horne in for one game then falling out injured.

If ur policy is based around not getting injured then Carter would be our IC

Brad Thorn credits a lot of his longevity to a lot of stretching (yoga-like) after the match. Rob needs some yoga.

Had no idea McMenimen had served Aus rugby for 7 years and went overseas to study at Cambridge and still came back afterwards.

Vickerman didn't show much loyalty to the Brumbies when they bent over backwards to accommodate his needs...

He put his body on the line repeatedly for aus rugby to the point where his injuries were so chronic that his best option was to go overseas to ensure he had some sort of decent life after rugby. He might still be back yet.

When I look at the Wales side and work out the players missing from their starting team they would like to have: 13. J. Davies, 9. M. Phillips, 4. L. Charteris and 3. A. Jones are missing.

4 players - that would be a dream for Oz who are missing from their RWC first choice run-on team 15. Beale, 11. Mitchell, 12. McCabe, 10. Cooper, 8. Palu, 6. Elsom, 5. D. Vickerman and 1. Kepu. Add in our best LHP, B. Robinson who never made it to the RWC if you like.

Sure some would say that so and so shouldn't have been starting in the RWC, but Deans picked them; and Palu and Mitchell got injured in the pool games, so they shouldn't count.

My point is that our team is seriously compromised - and not least on the bench because many of our regular reserves will be starting or are injured themselves. It looks a bit like the 22 who played against Samoa before 3N. That game didn't turn out too well IIRR.

Therefore claims that we are going to win by heaps are over the top. Wales played their worst game by far in the "Bronze medal" game and we shouldn't hope that they play or kick at goal that poorly again. Yet they still got close, albeit with a Williams try that owed a lot to a forward pass. Plus they have two lads who didn't play against us: 10. Priestland and 7. Warburton.

Priestland has been the find of the year for Wales and we all know Warburton by now. He's not a typical fetcher like Pocock who is always close on the ball. He stands back a bit and strikes with a couple of quick steps to the pill when he sees it's worthwhile to have a go.

Wales will be superior in the fetching department because the other 6 numbers in the forwards are better at it than our guys: notably 1. Jenkins, as we should remember from the game a year ago - and we should recall that 8. R. Jones poached a few in the Bronze game, though he is on the bench this time.

8. Faletu was hardly noticed against us in the RWC because he had to play 7. since Warburton was suspended, but watch him go from the base of the scrum in this match.

I watched the Bronze game again a few days ago with Pom Miles Harrison commentating and he said that the Wales team was practising stripping the ball in the warm up. The Aussies seemed surprised by this as they were against Ireland who held up Oz mauls to get the "use it" scrum feed, yet they, and Irish provincial teams have been doing for a couple of years now.

I hope they have done a better job with their homework this time.

A week and a bit away, but massive news by Sam Ikin, with SBS to broadcast the game for FTA coverage, across the nation.

Almost thought what with the date given on this thread, the game was on this Sunday UK time...but upon further checking it's actually on tomorrow (Sat)...so guess the thread starter meant Oz time...early Sunday morning then.
