England with coaching inputs so far from:
Andrew Johns
George Smith
One of the Ellas (can't remember which).
When is the ARU going to use the countless resources lying on its door step?
The Waratahs / Wallabies attacking structures (second man plays) have really taken a lot from similar structures (Cheika even admitted this during his time at the Tahs) - get some of these legends in to work with our halves. Supplement these with the Ellas etc.
Get Brad Thorn down from Queensland and George Smith to work with the forwards.
Get some AFL legends down to help with the kicking.
Just fucking get anyone who can inspire the players and have an input. Why we aren't doing these things confounds me.

I read somewhere that some time back the Wallaby players wore a GPS unit to "track" their total metres run during a game. Does that still occur?
It would be an interesting stat
I'm not sure how some people are declaring TPN a better scrummager than Moore based on those tests. TPN has been coming on against either a tiring front row or 2nd-stringers. Maybe he is the better scrummager, but those two tests are hardly a fair basis for comparison.
As far as I can tell all Moore has done wrong so far is give away one silly penalty in defense of his halfback.
Inclined to think the GPS stats would be a good indicator of match fitness, but not of effectiveness. Most of the measured run metres would surely be getting from one ruck to the next.
At the start of this series, I was very confident it would be 2-1 but I wasn't sure who would win. But after the first two tests I fancy England's chances of sweeping.
We were a one trick pony in the first two tests. England worked that out after 20 mins of the first test but it took us 160mins. If I was chieka, I would focus on 3 things for the third test.
1. Discipline. Should be obvious. We can't keep giving away easy points or pissing the ref off.
2 variation and threat around the ruck to get England to draw defenders in. Traditionally we have had our 8 as a big boppa ball runner to do this given we don't maul much. We also used to have forwards running of our half back (ala gregan). But now we telegraph it by passing to a flat footed forward who may or may not be expecting it and is easily accounted for by the defence.
3. We also need to play field position and take points on offer. Not sure why we have been trying to run it from everywhere, don't we trust our line out? Is it because our kick chase is so crap? Our running game has actually been ok, but less will be more. Especially if the defence is unsure if we will spread it wide or not.
Will be another good game this week. England should be favourites but I hope we get up.

The systems are far more capable then just a generic GPS tracker, the latest systems provide real time stream of stats to the coaching staff, they also measure acceleration, speed and the velocity of collisions. Coaches from other codes have spoken about using the info to help assist in managing fatigue and substitutions.
However the greatest benefit is managing training loads during the week, using heart rate monitors through all trainings to manage players fatigue levels, but also using cumulative tracking of distance covered to manage either under training or over training.
The sport science potential of it all is really quite astounding, and Australia is at the leading edge with Australian owned Catapult Sports recognised as the industry standard. I posted in another thread, the next step is to incorporate some of this data into improving the fan experience.

COMPLETELY off topic here.
Why does there always appear 'sent from iphone' etc?? I doubt anyone on a forum would give a flying fuck where it comes from, and I doubt it is a 'forum thing' (?), so does that mean apple decided to always include that info???
If so, it really is only another form of advertising for iphones, and to be honest I take my hat off to the bloke that thought of it. Really quite genius.
Anyway, does anyone know why it is there exactly?
