^^^^^^^^^^^ Hence "Trouble at mill?" I can't see them standing him down, but fair to assume that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) & the others who backed KB (Kurtley Beale) when Link wanted to send him home are probably on several peoples shit list.

This is just too much awful journalism for one week..

"with vice-captain Adam Ashley-Cooper left underwhelmed by the ARU's token recognition of his 100th test appearance."

"While the 30-year-old is too classy and professional to make a fuss of the lack of fanfare, Ashley-Cooper's family are privately extremely disappointed."

Yeah, alright - or you were just too fucking lazy to write an actual article this week, Darren.

Sharpe's 100th Cap Ceremony:

There is nothing "underwhelming" about that. What could be better than sharing that moment with the men who you've shed blood, sweat and tears with for nearly a decade of representing your country. If this is actually a problem, maybe the Wallabies are in a darker place than I'd like to imagine.

Representing your nation is the highest honor any sports-person could ever hope to achieve. To imply that you are owed some grand fanfare for having that honor smacks of a level of self-entitlement that makes me want to hurl.

Or maybe this article is just a gee-up crock of shit written by a hack of a journalist.

That's assuming he isn't stood down for his involvement in Bealegate. After all, kurtley was under his wing. As a senior player he carries some responsibility.
Why?
At the time, assuming he was on the distribution list,as a senior squad member,he would be obligated to inform the business/ Wallaby HR manager of the contents.
Oh wait, too late KB (Kurtley Beale) already gave her a copy......

Wasn't there a big issue surrounding his selection for his 100th?

I think the issue was he didn't make the semi-final 22 for which would've been his 100th.

Deservedly so imo, no room for sentimental selections in an important match.

Matt Burke can quietly fuck off too. That article about Link's tenure is just fluff shit.

But this is about the game.

What is the forecast likely to be? Rain or storm I'm guessing, given the shit we have had this year.

The investigation running in parallel to this week of training will suck, but we need to fucking focus and smash these black shirted bastards hard to restore some pride

Link should get everyone together in camp and they all - as adults - should fucking agree to put shit behind them with neither Beale nor Patston there

Just looked it up. Jogged the memory a little. But essentially he was dropped from the team for what would have been his 100th, then picked for a dead rubber.

Matt Burke can quietly fuck off too. That article about Link's tenure is just fluff shit.

As noted on the Beale thread, he cannot downplay the 7 game trot, whilst ignoring that it wasn't managed in any of the past 7 seasons of the last 12 with similar schedules, then talk up the same teams for the fixtures ahead.

The comments about Link's record against NZ also conveniently ignore that NZ are a better team now than they have been. That's based on their record against all nations excluding Australia being compared.

presumably he will carry the ball and lead the team out, get an announcement over the PA, and some special attire to celebrate it..what else do they want?

Maybe they can have a statue of his family erected at the SFS with a fountain of tears pouring out of their eyes?

Or establish the new Ashley-Cooper Extended Family Entitlement Stand at one end of the ground?

So here's a conundrum: How do you get the family of players to just keep their gobs shut?

Obviously I'm not familiar with Australian law but I can't imagine any sort of contract clause could hold them to that.

You'd think simply for the sake of the public image of their own kid they'd be a lot more self-conscious of the light they've put themselves in. Most of the posters here are level-headed enough to separate comments by AACs family from how AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) thinks or feels - but I think we can also degree that large groups of the general public do not.

After the Dublin 6 interjection by his family, this is not a good look at all.

It makes me think of the helicopter mother's who would attend meetings between their 20-something child and the kids college professor.

The ARU cannot. But it's in AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)'s own interests to ensure they do
