It's tactical, Hill now has to bring Burgess into the Rebels squad as a injury replacement for Kingi this weekend so we have 2 scrum halfs in the squad. Meaning he has played Super Rugby and is available for the Wallabies.

He's available for the Wallabies without playing Super Rugby.

Farrell's goal kicking was better than Sextons last night, perhaps thats the reason, but I agree I'd pick Sexton ahead of Farrell.
As a wallabies fan, hoping Farrel is picked, didnt look to have much to offer in terms of attack. PLus, and the commentators noted this as well, he has an exploitably short temper...

I think its just a shitty decision rather than a tactical one...

I will say it again, but it is possible that White is intended in the next 6.

The more I think about it though the less likely. I think Deans has made use of Ioane's injury to make it a 32 man squad and have room for favourites such as McCabe and Beale.

To'omua - has completed far more quality 80 minute games at 10 than O'Connor this year. Rebs supporters are even questioning his value. But I'd choose QC (Quade Cooper)
Folau - how many games has he played on the wing.
Barnes - how many 80 minute games has he played this year.

The rest are understandable and would come down to the game plan.

Just so everyone knows (don't know if its already been said), if it is his first dislocation you can often go through a month of heavy rehab and then strap the hell out of it for a while and get away with playing. McCabe did this at the world cup. He will eventually need the reco as the labrum will be torn but hopefully we'll see him against the BILs!!

As for the Phipps over White and to a lesser extend Beale over Mogg, I am completely dumbfounded. Why the f*ck would you not select him. It is quite literally an insult and I think Deans has lost it. At this stage, it appears white will have to walk on water to make the squad.

What little faith I had in his 'logic' has been completely shattered. A disgrace and an absolute joke.

That's stretching it. I dislocated my shoulder 2 years ago. It took almost 6 weeks before I was able to raise my arm above the horizontal.

Would be a miracle if he made it.

What's most hilarious to me about To'omua not even getting a look in is - based on form this year - he is a lower-risk option at 10 and he plays an arguably lower-risk style than any Aussie 10. Don't want to hear it about his lack of test experience. JOC (James O'Connor) has had 1 test at 10. I don't care how many caps he has had in the outside backs, that is no indication of how he will go at 10. Even better is the concept (as another poster already mentioned today) that the Lions is too big a test but blooding him against the ABs and Boks some how isn't..

think its different for different people. First time i did mine it was out for about 5 hours as they couldnt put it back in on the spot, had to take me to hospital, do xrays etc with it still out to make sure it wasnt broken etc. Anyway finally got it back in and i could pretty much immediatly put it nearly vertical...lets just hope he can recover quickly, we need him!!!

We have beaten the Boks recently and the Darkness on occasions recently. Good hard teams to blood a new debutant against.

Would you rather they blood players against tough arsed teams that have the wood on us totally like Scotland or Samoa?

I agree that To'omua looks like our best option at 10.

I meant it is ironic because many punters seem to think the Lions is a bridge too far for new players, but teams which regularly beat the Lions are a good place to do it. Not to mention history as well..2001 wasn't that long ago..
