Wallabies 2023

Joe Blow

John Hipwell (52)
I am one of the few that don’t have an issue with Foley. He has a very good all around running and passing game but his kicking is a bit off. Maybe its better now?
I’d play Hodge at 15 if Foley gets a run.
My guess is that Rennie will bring him in and have a look at him in camp, as he did with Quade.

Same, he was never dropped, he took up a contract elsewhere which at the time made him ineligible for selection. There is no downside to having him in the squad, he has a lot of experience, if he gets selected then let his performance validate that.

David Nucifora has been the director of high performance for Ireland since 2014, overseeing all coaching and development at all levels

They didn't become world number 1 overnight, nor was it simply beacuse of Farrell
Was it Joe Schmidt?

Was it Joe Schmidt?
No, it was their long term vision of centralizing the sport in Ireland and focusing on developing coaches and players from a young age

If you don't think Rennie is at all to blame for the Wallabies struggles, then how can you think Schmidt & Farrell are to credit for Ireland's success? Either the head coach matters or he doesn't

Ireland's success was based on developing coaches such as... Nucifora, Schmidt, Farrell, Larkham, Rowntree, Andy Friend, and McFarland?

No, I clearly said developing players and coaches at the grassroots level. Since when was the national team or URC team grassroots?

According to you lot Rennie is a mastercoach and he's not to blame at all for the Wallabies winning 39% of games under him, but Ireland are only good because of Schmidt and Farrell

Think there are rules about banging on and on about the same thing forever.

Fair enough

To the topic at hand, the return of the great Bernard Foley! In all seriousness, I hope this isn't signaling a return to the "run it from everywhere" game plan

I'm good with it. I would have preferred that we didn't need to be looking this broadly but it is where we are. Wish the bloke all the best and hope that he is as close to his best form that Quade was, and Kerevi.

Welcome back Foley.

JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) goooooooone...

Gleeson in.
Gleeson a smokey I reckon. Sure he was a good find for the Tahs this year, and did well with the A's. I guess they needed another good 7 in there with Hooper out. EDIT - I was wrong about position
