Wallabies 2023

Generally yes, but Rennie was the one putting a winger at Fullback. If you want to change someone's position you should at least make sure he understands what to do in the new position

Agreed. But this isn't really a one-off. We seem to be having this issue across the park, although not as quite obvious as the Wright case.
How many of our props have difficulty scrummaging.
How many of our halfbacks poor passing.
How many flyhalfs poor game-management.
Fullbacks who can't kick and catch.
Hooker who can't throw.
Centres who can't pass.
The list goes on.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Wright was always billed as a winger/fullback and had reasonably consistent exposure at fullback throughout his earlier years in particular.

True, and it goes back to coaching

The craziest part is the guy that has had a big hand in improving coaching levels in Ireland is an Australian

Every winger wants to be a fullback, but he has never played there from the Brumbies at anymore than a pinch

You’re all over the place Tomthumb.

You say that we do have the cattle to be more successful and then you instantly contradict that and state that our players lack rugby nous.

It’s obvious you are not a fan of Rennie’s but it’s not clear whether that’s because you don’t rate him as a coach or because the guy just happens to be a kiwi.

When I say we have the cattle I'm referring to the athletes and physical talent, as there were excuses made about NRL getting all the athletes

I am a fan of Rennie, have always rated him from Manawatu days and his time with NZ u20's and Chiefs. But I don't believe in blind faith, it's still necessary to hold these guys to account

This isn't just about losing to Argentina. It's about losing to England, Scotland and Wales in the last 12 months too

No, I’d take dropping out of a World Cup if it meant wins in between. But we don’t even get that

The fact is we haven’t won the Bledisloe in 2 decades and just went winless in a northern Tour. You say the wallaby jersey is sacred, yet defend all the poor performances of the players wearing it
It’s easy pointing out all that problems isn’t it, if only finding solutions to all these problems was so forthcoming

Replace coach with a cheap one?

Not exactly a workable solution.
No, that was tongue in cheek

There need to be a major investment in the development of young Australian coaches from the grassroots up. We have an international 15 that doesn't know where to stand let alone how to catch a high ball. We have wonderful athletes, but poor basic skills like catching, passing etc.

We stopped developing Aussie coaches despite all our success at both international and super level coming with them at the helm. Daryl Gibson and Rob Penny sent the Waratahs back decades. We first develop coaches and then let them develop the players. It's what Nucifora did with Ireland, and it's paying off in spades

they are coached by an Englishman

David Nucifora has been the director of high performance for Ireland since 2014, overseeing all coaching and development at all levels

They didn't become world number 1 overnight, nor was it simply beacuse of Farrell
