Due to these South African results par excellance, les Bleus are now 5th on the table. C'est magni-f*ckén-fique.

I must be going blind, both Jags last 2 tries looked to have forward passes in the lead-up

Why would you think you are going blind Dismal when quite obviously there is a man who should have a white walking stick as his aid to movement in charge of each and every rugby game?

^ yeah, back end of season looks tough:

R9 Chiefs away
R10 Highlanders away
R11 bye
R12 Brumbies away
R13 Hurricanes home
R14 Chiefs home
R15 Crusaders away & in duck shooting season*
R16 Bulls home
R17 Reds away
R18 Hurricanes away

* Sir JK reckons you never want to play in Christchurch when it's duck shooting season

I'm a bit more optimistic, as I believe every remaining match is eminently winnable. Except for the Crusaders. Just not gonna happen. Further, aside from the Chufs, each of the other NZ sides still have to go to South Africa.....

EDIT: Plus the Hurricanes have a bye this week. If le Blues beat the Chufs, they would be 2nd equal in NZ, or outright 2nd if they manufacture a BP win.

That's a very big if. Chiefs have turned a corner, are fresh coming off a bye and look a completely different outfit to the rag-tag bunch that played the first 3 or so games (amazing what happens when you shift DMac out of 10).

Chiefs almost always get up for the Blues clashes and Blues are away from home and will be dealing with a few injuries/unavailabilities (SBW, Rieko, probably Gibson etc).

Clan will be without Richard Buckman (achilles) & Marty Banks (broken bone in foot) this week & obviously the next few as well.

CruSadists meanwhile could possibly have George Bridge & Jack Goodhue back.

Geez the Crusaders maust be relieved to Goodhue and Bridge back, the poor buggers have really struggled without them!

Coupla articles in today's Hurld have the PM & Sports Minister leaning on the Crusaders to change their name from next season:

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/rugby/news/article.cfm?c_id=80&objectid=12220500

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/rugby/news/article.cfm?c_id=80&objectid=12220468

Newshub.co.nz then has Ardern denying either of them have said anything:

https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/spor...o-change-name-after-christchurch-attacks.html

There's a change.org petition (~23K signatures as of last night) calling for the name to stay but it's a done deal IMO, even if there's no governmental pressure being brought to bear.

Loss Bleus will be without SBW & Blake Gibson for at least two weeks, both have knee injuries & will be re-assessed during the bye week.

1014 Rugby put up a list of Super Rugby's all-time top try scorers & pointed out that TJP is equal ninth with 50 & that everyone above him is a back-three or midfielder. Impressive strike-rate, too (118 matches).

A time lord has revealed that the 2019 Super Rugby final will be an un-Australian affair. Though, perhaps not involving the teams, nor scoreline, you might expect.....

The edit (which isn't mine) will soon probably be reversed.
