Shields missed knock on stuffed the Shawks up a bit but wft hard to argue with the mental acuity required to execute a errorless 6-minute length of the field drive when you're completely knackered to clinch the win by 1 point in the 84th minute. Champion mentality.

About 4 of that Shawks team have got 10 year Springbok jersey tenure written all over them

Holy crap that was an incredible finish.

Sharks were excellent. Both Du Preez and Am just brilliant.

Talk about the ref handing the canes a win there in the last few mins

Have never seen him have an acceptable game since he started a year or so ago. Think he might have got chipped about his ending the game last week when the Tahs pulled down the Brumbies maul on the try line after full time. He certainly went out of his way to allow the Canes to stay in there for up to 4 minutes past full time last night.

^^^^^^ possibly missed a Horrorcanes knock-on but everything after the Marais (?) YC looked kosher to me (& I'd have been more than happy for Shawks to win & bring 'canes back to the pack points table-wise).

That was a pretty bad penalty that went against the Sharks there...

Canes lost the ball out of the ruck, Sharkes retrieve it and then the Canes player on the ground pulls it back in... and the Sharks get penalised.
Certainly shouldn't have been play on because the Canes player played the ball on the ground.

I thought the ball was still in the ruck though so the Sharks player played the ball in the ruck and committed the first penalty.

Whatever influence the ref had, that was pretty impressive composure by the Canes.

Winning is undoubtably a habit and it was even more impressive without their normal on field generals.

Bloos midfield looking porous already, DMac being allowed way too many easy metres. Perofuture's kicking starting to be a liability, too.

It's a bit of a surreal experience to be on the receiving end of the Blues classic 'manufacture-a-hundred-scoring-opportunities-but-f*ck-up-hundred-and-one-of-them' gameplan. Just need it to last another 22 minutes, pls.

But of course it'll only last 21 minutes. And they Chiefs will manufacture a converted try in the 80th min to win the match.

That's exactly the lack of intelligence that consistently costs the Blues matches against anyone who can't be overawed by natural ability. All they had to do was pack a back down at the scrum to try shore it up, leave the left wing undefended and use the halfback to keep the try scorer as wide as possible. If the Chiefs wanted the easy try they could've had it but would've had a conversion from the unfavourable kicking side.

Instead they concede a penalty try with a seven man scrum.

F*cking idiots.

no fucks given there, wasnt expecting shit and that's what we got. At least they tried hard to the end without overly embarrassing themselves, all we can hope for really.

And they Chiefs will manufacture a converted try in the 80th min to win the match.

These things happen.

To the Blues.

Every week.

SA conference turning into a real scrap between Sharks and Lions for top spot and Bulls, Stormers & Jags fighting it out among themselves.

One wonders how the Sharks will be at home after all the travel and effort they put into the last two matches. A Bulls win there will open things up once more.
