I think in BrisVegas, Giteau was extremely dangerous at 12 in the second half and took the correct option more often that not - some fantastic grubbers that gave us field position. I worked well that night.

AHA! Finally we understand why you love the Brumbies so much Spook. Or should I say "Matt"?!!!

:)

:puke: I work well every night at this stage of my life. :)

Finally, Giteau (or Barnes) taking the can for our latest performance against the ABs is grossly unfair given the pounding we received up front and at the breakdown. I have noted before that Barnes was at 10 for much of that and nothing improved.

Agreed. At least 10 of the team that night were absolute shit.

I'm not even sure Barnes should be vc. Too many injuries, and, as you say, too many patchy performances (which may or may not be linked to the amount of injuries).

I would have been happy for Horwill or Moore to get the vc, or even stay with George. I guess we have to ask the question - if Rocky is crocked for an extended period, then who do we want to take over the captaincy. I personally would like to see Horwill groomed for that.

I am not sure Horwill is an automatic selection if Chisholm and Sharpe are also fit. Its pretty close between all 3 at the moment with no single stand out. Hopefully this changes on the EOYT and in 2010 as I could see Horwill or (dare I say it) Sharpe as el-captaino.

In the meantime, I would fall back on Stirlo or Giteau if an emergency c or vc is required on the EOYT.

This does highlight the need for more stability in our team though doesn't it. There are too many positions where the first choice is only marginally ahead of the second choice.

Sharpe doesnt do enough around the ground to be captain. He only ads to the lineout if fit, in all other areas chis and horwill outdo him regularly!

is there somewhere we can write to to get vickerman back?

None of the locks have looked anything more than average this season. They aren't actively competing at the lineouts and they aren't hitting the tackle area.

sharpe only performs when he has a beard! and i'm not sure even that will get him back in the XV anyways. but no one at lock has consistently stood up for a long time.

Why is anyone surprised?

Deans' teams plays a specific style of rugby

His style requires players who have a very high workrate, good skills, pace, athleticism and team attitude.

He and Mitchell did the same with the All Blacks by getting rid of older units that don't meet that criteria.

And when they were beat in the 2003 RWC, Mitchell criticised his team for being too inexperienced? :nta:

I don't know what to believe out of any of this shit.

But I'm fucking mystified by the theme through all of the dramas which seems to be a complete lack of communication.

There's always coaches out there who don't seem to understand that making decisions without letting players know before hand always leads to dissent.. but these coaches should never make it to the national level.

If Deans has dropped Morty without even bothering to tell him, that pisses me off. Even though it may have been due that's just not respecting the players.
Deans has had plenty of issues, along with Mitchell it must be added, communicating with, especailly, senior players who are less likely to blindly buy into what he is about.
