Always at this time of year clubs start looking for excuses and reasons to blame other clubs. Any side they can’t beat must be paying players. Or the ref cheats. It’s pretty clear that this guy has been involved in Tongan 7s so youd think Subbies would be well aware of there is an issue

Div 1 is still trucking along with 2 rounds left before even getting to Finals excuses and whose paying who.....
Forest - HH. After last weeks thoroughly entertaining game, this can be a bit of a Banana skin game, although I think the boys are well prepared to prevent that. Any point locks up a finals berth, although the focus is still Top 2 knowing the gap between us and Blueys is very small. Forest at home are a good 1st grade outfit. This one wont be done until late. HH by 7
Waverley - Colleagues. Double points. Put the finals race to bed, Waverley were clinical two weeks ago and a much improved squad from what I saw earlier in the season. Colleagues have come out swinging in the last two games, although I cant see them doing that for the full 80 here. Waverley by 7
Lindfield - Blue Mountains. Stop the presses. I cant deal with the 4:50pm messages about my tipping skills. Big trip for Mountains to get up again after last week. A few bruised bodies as well from the physical affair and I can see Blueys not being at their best. Lindfield are well rested and have the right players back at the right time. That cricket pitch will be Concrete this week and I am glad I am not anywhere near it. Lindfield to grab a big scalp before finals. Lindfield by 3
Mosman - Drummoyne. Drummoyne will be filthy they let the game go against Lindfield two weeks ago. They could feel a little let down as a Yellow card with 10 to go should have seen two players go to the bin. Luckily the touchie forgot to watch the Lindfield players involvement. Drummoyne need this and other results to go their way for finals. Mosman have dropped off from their early season form and may focus on some lower grades with finals out of reach. Dirty Reds by 6

Would love to agree but doubt this is the case. The Polynesian nations find it difficult to get players for these mid year games due to Shute Shield not being very cooperative. It's also too expensive to fly proper representatives and pay them a convincing match payment for them to bother missing their own games (Shute shield, NZ prem, etc) where they would already collect a similar match payment.
To support my point, this 'Tonga' side lost to Spain in Tonga.
Still unsure how he's managed to be eligible to play subbies rugby for the rest of the year, but I'm sure that's just another unread email in the overflowing inbox of the Hon. Tim Richards.

Everyones motivations are different, Cash sure can be a motivator but not always. What is always a motivator is community and feeling welcomed.

Hornsby (1) v Sydney Irish (2)
How good have Hornsby been! They have come down from the CC comp with a side of Steely Veterans who show like they have played a lot of footy together. Sydney Irish also have shown they are well coached and have the class to go all the way on their day. Hornsby i feel are just too good defensively, they have only given up 36 points all year in the 10's format. The Irish Girls will be up for it, and will score early but i feel the Hornsby girls will run away with it thereafter. Hornsby 13+

These two sides have shared the points this year, and there is no love lost. Both have won their home fixtures against each other in tight contests. This is going to be an old fashioned bar fight! 1. Dan O'Leary (Irish): One half of a dominant Irish front row, technical and sound as they come. Also considered: F Bursle (Knox)
2. Lachlan Scott (Knox): Dynamic ball carrier and steady as they come at set piece. Also considered: J Tyner (Irish), H Morgan (Harbour)
3. Mark O'Connell (Irish): Joins Dan in the front row, similarly, sound technically. Also considered: B Crosilla (Valley)
4: Ronan Scott (Irish): Plays 8 but can play in the row. 8 tries, dangerous ball carrier and heavy hitter on defense. Irish's best. Also considered: L Schofield (Merrylands)
5. Sio Faanati (Merrylands): Not a lineout threat but like Scott dominant with the ball in hand and on defense. Also considered: N Bennet (Harlequins)
6. Fraser Bleach (Knox): Strong over the ball, nifty with his footwork on offense, doesn't miss his 1v1s. Easy selection.
7. Tomas Mecinsky (Harbour): Fantastic player all around, a nightmare to go against.
8. Phillip Filipo (Knox): Rounds out a star studded backrow, 12 tries in 10 1st grade games, frightening ball runner.
9. Miti Malo (Merrylands) / Ross Hynes (Irish): Take your pick, both genuine pests and hugely talented. Miti a bit more of a threat with the ball in hand, Hynes more of a field general. Also considered: C Knight (Harlequins)
10. John O'Brien (Irish): Form 10 of the comp, can kick pens from anyway and has a vicious step to catch slow defenders napping. Also considered: Jackson Garrels (Harbour), Dan Lelevaga (Merrylands)
11. Joshua Kuluega (Merrylands): One of the divisions great finishers, when he's on the end in space it's curtains. Also considered: G Baker (Harbour)
12. Jerome Jospeh-Riogi (Old Barker): Left field pick but thought he was the only standout for Barker consistently all year. Also considered: M Glover (Knox)
13. Jamie Beighton (Harlequins): Very big, very fast, very skilled. Easily Quinns best in a tough year. Also considered: M Ainsworth (Knox)
14. Kostandreas Sykiotis (Harbour): Deceptive turn of pace, good size and a great stiff arm. Hard to bring down. 12 tries.
15. Jordan Taanoa (Merrylands): Dynamic with the boot and ball, 6 tries this year and can play anywhere 10-15. Also considered: H Lorang (Harbour)

McLean Cup - 3:30PM
Hornsby (1) v Raptors (2) - This will be an interesting game. Hornsby have been missing a few of their regulars in the closing rounds of the season, and while they'll be looking to improve, I think the home side will get up in a close one.
Renegades (3) v Wakehurst (4) - Having beaten Wakehurst in both the Home and Away fixtures, the boys will know they can get the job done. However, Wakehurst are no mugs and have the advantage of a lot of time together this year. Another close game, backing the boys.
Grose Cup - 2:00PM
Canterbury (1) v Raptors (2) - Berries will be pretty confident, having not lost since Round 6 and TBH not having anyone get within 2 scores of them the back half of the year. They have missed game time through forfeits tho, so maybe Raptors will be a bit more battle-hardened. Still see this as a win to Berries who will await their GF opponent at Wills on the 24th - a daunting prospect!
Hornsby (3) v Renegades (4) - we've got memories of losing to Hornsby by a single point in R1, despite only playing with 12 on the field. They've improved since then, and will fondly remember smashing us at MTO in R8. No shock that suddenly everyone is available for finals
and hopefully we can overcome the limited training numbers on talent alone. #backtheboys
