Manly forfeited as well.

Strange one, maybe just decided they'd done enough to secure their finals spot.
Yet they name 24 players on there Team sheet for the game….?

I think if you forfeit a game you shouldn’t be allowed to play finals. Manly top of the table and can’t get 15 guys to the game at home? As Pfitzy said, Oatley haven’t played in a month

UNSW vs Newport: An interesting scenario for UNSW, do they given up the mathematical chance of a finals spot and go with a lower grade focus or try and win their last 2 and hope other result go their way? ? I think UNSW are a big shot at bringing the Breakers unbeaten run to an end with WWW always impacting player availibility. I'm going to go with UNSW by 7.

Player availability looks pretty good when you can name a first grade fullback as the "last sub" in 4th grade two weeks in a row.

This was the team sheet from when they were meant to meet earlier in the year.

0 minutes played across 2 games yet they’ve got 9 reserves listed. I’m sure Pfitzy can provide us the rule around not putting players/reserves on team sheets before they enter the field.

Manly may not be as safe as they think, I’d assume they’ll be docked 4 points for forfeiting today. With clubs chasing them having games in hand it could come down to a shoot out against North Cronulla in Rd 14 to qualify for the 4th spot….

Huge game for Pats at DP next week, after Uni hammered an under strength Newport side. A loss to Uni could spell the end of there season after promising to destroy the 1st grade comp at the start of the year..

Western Raptors (2) v Hornsby (1) - Raptors could take the lead here with a win but hard to go past Hornsby who will want minor & major premierships in both mens grades as well as womens, and a Club Championship as well. Club Of the Year Div 4 and Overall coming up

Perhaps I spoke too soon? Raptors winning both grades today. Hornsby looked a little short of numbers in 2s and got hammered. Will have to watch back First Grade but saw it was close on fuse for a long while

Pfitzy is there any updates on when a lot of the catch up games are to be played? Lots of clubs in final contention still have multiple games to play. Are clubs just waiting and hoping the other side forfeits first?
Seems to be mainly in the lower divisions with the higher divs benefiting from the extra wash out week and double points.

The direction is that clubs should have organised them before the last wet weather round i.e. yesterday!

However some practicalities like school holidays have gotten in the way of this.

For my division everything is caught up except:

R9 Hornsby v Chatswood - midweek some time.
R7 Chatswood v Canterbury - double points at Wills Ground in R14.

Oatley did play last week.

But I get your point, there's potential for sides at the top of ladder to deny an opposition a game as a tactic going into finals, hoping if they meet again they'll be short of a run.

There are 3 games to catch up in Div 5, two involving Oatley:

- R8 Sea Lice v Oatley
- R9 Oatley v Convicts
- R11 St Ives v Mac Uni

I would imagine Oatley are confident of beating both those opponents with BP. That catapults them into 2nd.

The other clash is mainly for pride at this point.

I've added the 5 points to Blacktown and Burra for their byes in R14 and R13 respectively, and assumed Oatley win both their catch up games with BP in the table below.

Div 5 will be top 4 fighting it out for Jeffrey Cup, and positions 5-8 playing off for Meldrum.

9 Colleagues Convicts19St Ives (H)Mac Uni (A)
10 Macquarie Uni2Maccabi (H)Convicts (H)
11 St Ives0Convicts (A)Oatley (A)

In terms of minor premiership:
- Oatley fully control their fate: win both games with BP and it is theirs with 54. They beat GRR by 20 points last time and St Ives by 19, for reference.
- Burra can get to 53 at best and hope that Oatley lose or draw a game, or drop BPs.

Savers don't have enough points to get to 1st IMHO. Their forfeit hasn't been applied in the above so technically they're on 39 but still have more wins than GRR. So 49 at best.

In terms of finals, I think it'll be

JEFFREY: Oatley (1) v Burra (2), Savers (3) v GRR (4)
MELDRUM: Blacktown (5) v Maccabi (6), Sea Lice (7) v Convicts (8)

Anything can happen tho :)

I think everything in Div 2 is caught up at this point. Div 3:

Clark Cup
- R9 Harlequins v Knox

Nicholson Cup
- R8 Brothers v Chatswood - 24th Jul according to socials.
- R9 Mac Uni v Brothers - ?? Can't find a date yet.

The table looks wrong to me. By my count George’s River should have played 11/9 wins/1loss and the extra bye which would take them into 1st place with 49 points. Oatley also appear to be missing a game as do Maccabi and Convicts.
Depending on the timing of Manlys forfeit they could loose 4 points? North Cronulla who haven’t lost since Rd 6 could win there last 3 games and pip them for that 4th spot

Table looks weird to me as well. GRR have had 2 Byes which might explain it

You're right about Savers' forfeit - could be 4 points which mathematically leaves them vulnerable.

Possible but the 3 games are at Blacktown and home v Savers, as well as finding a game against Oatley somewhere in there. Tough ask.

Also worth noting their games since R6 have included St Ives, Mac Uni, Balmain, and Maccabi. As well as one bye and the TBC against Oatley.

Apart from the above games. All clubs should be on 11 games at this point…
