There are 3 games to catch up in Div 5, two involving Oatley:
- R8 Sea Lice v Oatley
- R9 Oatley v Convicts
- R11 St Ives v Mac Uni
I would imagine Oatley are confident of beating both those opponents with BP. That catapults them into 2nd.
The other clash is mainly for pride at this point.
I've added the 5 points to Blacktown and Burra for their byes in R14 and R13 respectively, and assumed Oatley win both their catch up games with BP in the table below.
Div 5 will be top 4 fighting it out for Jeffrey Cup, and positions 5-8 playing off for Meldrum.
Team | Pts | R13 | R14 |
1 Burraneer | 48 | BYE | Balmain (A) |
2 Oatley | 44 | Georges R (A) | St Ives (H) |
3 Manly Savers | 41 | Balmain (H) | Sea Lice (A) |
4 Georges River | 39 | Oatley (H) | Maccabi (A) |
5 Blacktown | 36 | Sea Lice (H) | BYE |
6 North Cronulla | 28 | Blacktown (A) | Savers (H) |
7 Maccabi | 25 | Mac Uni (A) | Georges R (H) |
8 Balmain | 21 | Savers (A) | Burra (H) |
9 Colleagues Convicts | 19 | St Ives (H) | Mac Uni (A) |
10 Macquarie Uni | 2 | Maccabi (H) | Convicts (H) |
11 St Ives | 0 | Convicts (A) | Oatley (A) |
In terms of minor premiership:
- Oatley fully control their fate: win both games with BP and it is theirs with 54. They beat GRR by 20 points last time and St Ives by 19, for reference.
- Burra can get to 53 at best and hope that Oatley lose or draw a game, or drop BPs.
Savers don't have enough points to get to 1st IMHO. Their forfeit hasn't been applied in the above so technically they're on 39 but still have more wins than GRR. So 49 at best.
In terms of finals, I think it'll be
JEFFREY: Oatley (1) v Burra (2), Savers (3) v GRR (4)
MELDRUM: Blacktown (5) v Maccabi (6), Sea Lice (7) v Convicts (8)
Anything can happen tho
