That bench of ours is considerably more balanced than last week. Think some changes are due to the unusually short turn around, also recovery after the extreme conditions on Sunday. Looking forward to it, a win will really set the season up.

Maddocks to 15 is exciting, actually think we have a slight advantage in most areas but the scrum is an issue. Would almost be happy for Talaki to come in just to sure that area up a little more.

Back to business for our boys I would think. They certainly have the skills and better game strategies than previous years, so putting aside last week I am expecting a close-ish game, but a win for Rebels (and yes, I am talking my book). I think Wessels' strength as a coach is that he gets inside the boys' heads in a positive way and that is exactly what they need.

Good Rebels side, front row (including bench) might be the key as per comment from Rebels3 above. English appears to be unlucky, he's been a better than solid performer in the back line, but it is a very strong 9-15.

Very interested to see how they respond to that second half slaughter of last week.

Thanks, seems like a handy player to pick up. Would be nice if you could have shared some of these locks with the Tahs.

Why? You didn't need them last week ;-)

Given the shortage of locks we have had over the last few years perhaps I'm happy to finally have a few that our hookers can throw too. Hopefully this week we will actually throw to them instead of over them

Game Day,

Time for the Rebels to make up for last weekend and not killing off the sharks last season. Great conditions for rugby today, compared to last weekend. Forecast for 27-28 degrees at kick off with 0% chance of rain.

It was an accurate call but probably thought he could get away with it like NZ teams do most of the time. It's just another way to attack - a very forceful way

That was pretty clear obstruction/no try.... I'm not sure what the commentary were banging on about?

Serious? The defenders eyes never left the decoy runner, at no point in time did he even look like he was going for the guy who received the ball

Wow..Meakes been good but seriously with all the talent Rebels have they are not playing anywhere near their potential......

Self belief as a team and as individuals they are still lacking imho as they certainly on paper have the squad to be top of Super Rugby but talent vs self belief are two different things.

Talent Rebels have in spades...but self belief and fluency as a team still some way to go imho......

Rebels look like a highly talented team which lack discipline in executing their game plan..

I’m still not entirely sure what style of game they’re trying to play. Last week it was all about size, this week much more mobility focussed and they’re losing the collision.

Personally I think Talakai should be starting, he is a better scrummager then Ainsley and there giving away soft penalties at the scrum with that front row. Philips is playing better then Coleman and should be starting, Coleman is playing well below average at the moment

That's a hooker having a good night.

Without a doubt....... the decoy runner ran in front of Debbie and made contact with the defender making him unable to make the tackle.

100% correct call.

Rangi deserved that first try. He ran 2 great lines after the first 2 line breaks and if willy past it he was away both times

He is also unable to make a tackle if he makes a shit defensive read, which he did, didn’t even look like he wanted to tackle anyone else

Pretty excited by the rebels backline on paper. They looking dangerous? Can’t get near a Tele but score looks good

Which is irrelevant because he was taken out by the decoy runner, and therefore unable to make a tackle on Debbie..........

But the Sharks are going to get spanked anyways.
