Austin was 27 Shane was 22 I believe
Shane who? No 22 definitely wasn't Shane Wilcox if that is who you are meaning. I didn't recognise 22 as being AA, but if so he was very impressive and had great pace. David Feliuai also looked good and had a strong game earlier. Some good options at No 12 for the Brumbies, but I think I prefer to see Len Ikitau play there as he did for the Wallabies, and let the others including Creighton and Sapsford compete for the 13.

Also interested to know who No 14 was.

From the RA match report, the No 22 was Austin Anderson.

It looks like No 14 might have been Jack Condon from the Academy. Can anyone confirm?

14 was Kye Oates based on Brumbies instagram post. He trained over last pre-season also.

Jack Condon is an openside and the guy that was poleaxed from the side late in the second half.

Mate, it was Shane ‍. They got them mixed up.
So even the Brumbies don't know the difference between them? OK. The Brumbies match report also attributed the try to Anderson. I'm almost certain he was then wearing the 22 jersey, but maybe I'm wrong?

Wandered down to sunny Bowral with Hawko yesterday, and ended up with a good dose of sunburn! The Bowral Blacks, with lots of assistance from the local council and NSWRU, put on a magnificent day with some 6,000 people attending. I must say I was mightily impressed with the number of Brumbies supporters at the ground. Something to do with the match being held between Sydney and Canberra making for a pleasant day out for both lots of supporters. Larkham spoke positively about the occasion suggesting it should be an annual fixture.

There's not much I can add to what previous posters have said above about the game. The outside backs from both teams looked sharp and made lots of ground with ball in hand. The only helpful comment I could make is for the 11/13/14/15 players on both sides to work on their respective defences. Overall, even though the Tahs had a gazillion Wallabies on the paddock/on the bench/ in the car park, etc, the Brumbies looked like the more settled side, and played accordingly.

Spoke to both Dave Porecki and Angus Bell after the match about their past physical problems. Delighted to report Dave assured me his Achilles tendon is now completely healed, as did Angus about his foot.

Yes, a great location for the game. If they do commit to it as an annual fixture, hopefully that will allow them to hire some temporary grandstands, or build a hill, as the actual watching experience wasn't great unless you were in the (veeerry niice) clubhouse.

Temporary grandstands, and complimentary hats, would be welcome additions. And a more reasonable ticket price.

My very burnt brother in law said he paid for tickets and parking and no one checked either, could have walked right in.

Fuck it, go one better and make it a regular season game. Thought the ground was ace. Halfway between Sydney and Canberra. Great pubs and accomodation around.

The stands are a good call for the future if it's there but for the ticket prices I'm not sure how it's allocated, but if the locals get it and they are getting a good crowd then keep it. One of the times where the gate takings actually benefits grassroots.

Full country round would be excellent. Each side has to take a game to the community once every 2 seasons but there's a round a year. At least for the Aus sides they do represent states after all.

This pretty much happens already doesn't it? Across the whole competition it'd only be the Force and the tahs who haven't taken a regular season game to the country in recent years.

Couldn't be competition prescribed though, at least not until Super Rugby is much healthier.

I reckon the Tahs have been prioritising getting members/ticketholders back to Allianz after those years of wandering around Sydney while the stadium was rebuilt. They did play some games in Newcastle over 2019 & 2020

Oh I don't mean it as a criticism, just that teams either already have a financial reason to do so (Reds, Chiefs, etc) or are already effectively in the 'country' as far as their catchment is concerned (Brumbies, Crusaders, etc). As much as it's nice to include the full regions the game is no where near healthy enough to be doing it in season without the financials stacking up. Taking trial games to the regions strikes a nice balance for mine.

Probably also worth noting that aside from regional centres like Townsville and Newcastle the broadcast infrastructure isn't adequate in a lot of places for in-season games. Temporary solutions can be worked out, but that comes with an added cost.
