Well done to Hegarty, for someone that hasn't been a regular stater for the past season and a half to come in for the past two games and play really well. He keeps going he may push Banks out lol unlikely but it would be nice to have someone else pushing for 15 other than Banks.

Think Maddocks started to raise his hand against the Force last night. Can't really see Hegarty being in the mix. If he is, then Aus rugby is in a much worse position than I think.

Agreed be great if Maddocks would put his hand up, I don't think Hegarty is good enough to keep Campbell out of 15 for the Reds.

He actually has been pretty good most of the season. He dropped a couple of sitters in the first few rounds and there were some defensive mix ups which weren't a good look, the latter in particular was a function of his team mates. If you were to break down the fullback stats he would be high up in a lot of areas.

I still think it’s the same problem with Maddocks though. Plenty of talent and the highest ceiling. Just too inconsistent and his worst is a fair way under his best. I do think he’s copped a bit of bad press this year, but he isn’t pushing his name to the front of the pecking order.

On the other hand Banks hasn’t been brilliant, but he’s been pretty solid and has had been part of a couple of key plays.

At this point the only way I can see Banks not being the fullback is if Rennie decides he wants to go another way and picks someone like Petaia or Wright.
