Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

Nope, he’s a solid performer but is a long way off some of Slippers performances and especially Eloff this season.

Slipper heads the list and agree that Eloff nudges out Zander. All the same "long way off" is not close to correct.

Zander has had some solid games but no performances like Eloff vs Force or Brumbies with turnovers, line breaks, etc. judged as best on field in a match. I like Zander and think he has these games in him but this season hasn’t put in a performance like those games. Hence the original comment on he might be the best LH this season is a long way off the mark.

I think Zander is a toiler though. Won’t come up with many eye catching plays, but contributes plenty. Whereas last year he was a young bloke who could survive at this level, but you didn’t get much more out of him. More Ala'alatoa, less Tupou.

Not expecting him to be in the Wallabies squad today by any means, but he’s progressing. His rate of development has been pretty impressive and he has time on his side.

I noticed that Paul Cully also included both Slipper and Tupou in his team of the week front row.........

Feels odd picking more Tahs than Reds. But there were some standout performances for the Tahs who really took it to the more fancied Brumbies. Meanwhile the Reds just put on an awesome team performance.

An odd one indeed. Wells and Harris both had great games at 8, and both were better than Sinclair who was the best of the 6's. I would have had halfback Lomani on one wing if not for my policy of only picking Wallaby eligible players.
