Hoiles very, very dumb. How many tackles did Mr Walsh miss? How many passes did he drop?

Look at the scoreboard.

An Walsh apologist after his effort last night. :lmao: You are at odds with greater rugby minds than your own including Noddy Lynagh and Sean Fitzpatrick who slated Walsh.

What did I write to be labelled a "Walsh apologist"? ::)

Anyone quoting that cheat and manipulator of referees Sean Fitzpatrick immediately loses credibility with me. I just naturally think that if Sean Fitzpatrick thinks Walsh was poor then he was probably wonderful.

Walsh's prevailing fault regardless of which game we are talking about, or what year, or what level, or regardless of who is paying his wages: is talking too much. He wants to be everybody's friend and he talks and talks, which invites dialogue and the consequent contest for his attention and all the problems that go with that.

There is a bit of the mincing princess in Walsh but players would rather have an authoritative ruler.

Cards. Needed some, would've solved a heap of problems.

As always was - and the thing is that cards for persistent infringements and other infractions are as valid in law as whistling for players being offside.

I have noticed that players tend not to infringe again when they return to the field from detention. Is that not a good thing?

Mrs Riddler was happy though - she loves Stevie boy and he was doing his warm up thing before the game just in front of us. A happy Mrs Riddler makes for a happy Riddler :)

Mrs Riddler's affection for Walsh is misguided and in more ways than one.

I think you're trying to tell me something here Lee. Are you perhaps saying that Nigel Owens isnt exactly Robinson Crusoe? Is that one of the reasons he was ousted (rather than outed) from NZ? And that perhaps the issues with alcohol were his way of dealing with his situation?

A assume as always you have some highly credentialed and irrefutable sources?

Think yourselves lucky. I married a Victorian who loves James Hird and detests cauliflower ears.

Brumbies want referee Steve Walsh axed
By JIM MORTON - AAP
Last updated 21:29 26/04/2010

The Brumbies have panned referee Steve Walsh's performance and called for his axing from Saturday night's crucial Super 14 clash with red-hot Queensland.

Still upset about Walsh's controversial handling of the 19-12 loss to NSW, Wallabies playmaker Matt Giteau felt it was pointless for the Brumbies to line up at Canberra Stadium if the Sydney-based New Zealander was officiating.

Brumbies coach Andy Friend today remained hopeful Walsh would be dropped from the pivotal match by SANZAR referees convenor Lyndon Bray following the weekly review of officials on Tuesday

"We'll wait and see whether he's the referee," Friend said in Canberra.

"They have a review tomorrow and they have got a promotion and relegation system and hopefully you would like to see that in place and working.

"That's up to the selectors to give their view and we can only deal with what we see and I thought the first 30 minutes it wasn't a very even contest."

It's understood the ACT-based outfit completed a scathing report of the refereeing at ANZ Stadium last Saturday night where they were unhappy with numerous areas, especially a disallowed try to Adam Ashley-Cooper and countless scrum resets and penalties.

Brumbies skipper Stephen Hoiles and Walsh had some heated verbal exchanges during the match.

Giteau was frank when asked whether he was hoping Walsh would be relegated.

"I think everyone is," the frustrated five-eighth said. "Mate I don't know if we will turn up - what's the point?"

Giteau also failed to suppress his opinion about the dubious "double-movement" ruling against Ashley-Cooper in the first half.

"Like anyone that knows rugby, that was a try," he said.

New Zealand-based Bray was not contactable on Monday but both the Brumbies, who are seven points outside the top four, and Reds will have their eyes on refereeing appointment confirmations on Tuesday.

Australian whistleblower Paul Marks was dumped from a round five appointment after being deemed to have delivered a crucial wrong call by not awarding the Sharks a match-winning penalty try against the Waratahs from an illegal Kurtley Beale knockdown.

Giteau has more to be concerned about than Walsh with Reds five-eighth Quade Cooper stealing a march on his claims to be the Wallabies No.10 again this season.

Outside in-form Test halfback Will Genia, Cooper has been superb for the resurgent Reds who need to win two of their final three matches to guarantee a first finals campaign in nine years.

"It's going to be a big challenge but like any Australian side, the 10 is always measured by how the team is performing so hopefully our side wins and that's all I care about," Giteau said.

"The Wallabies is the furthest thing from my mind, I'm just worrying about the Brumbies."

Friend ruled veteran flanker George Smith out of making a return from a lingering nerve problem against the Reds but was hopeful of having both Julian Huxley (hamstring) and Stirling Mortlock (back).

"We'll know more on Thursday but we're literally on the bones of our backside at the moment so hopefully those two will be okay," he said.

The Brumbies starting 15 was spared from training on Monday due to the physicality of the Waratahs clash.

Reds coach Ewen McKenzie reported lock Van Humphries (ankle) and wing Rod Davies (hamstring) were on the improve after missing the 16-13 win over the Stormers while he's also hopeful Laurie Weeks (foot) can pack down in the front-row.

Matt, I don't know why you turn up either. No wait, I remember. You are fucking paid to turn up, and while you're at it, try playing like the superstar your agents keep telling us you are, rather than just turning up and putting another rank performance out there.
Oh, and try not to focus on the fact you are in Matt To'omua's jersey, and probably should be battling Mr Lealiifano for the 12 spot.

I really hope that Bray doesnt fold under the pressure. Would love nothing more to see Walsh keep the Reds v Brumbies gig. Will add another element to what is already shaping to be an intriguing match.

I am witnessing a high correlation between Steve Walsh and Paul Marks apologists and Tah fans. Is it any wonder though? :)

Yeah, the Tahs have always got so much sympathy after queries of the skills of Mr Kaplan from other supporters ................................

Thing is, Paul Marks probably didn't even deserve it. He refereed fine in his 2 Super Rugby matches this year, he simply fucked up on the Penalty Try, which no referee would have awarded from 30 metres out, Kaplan, Barnes, none of them would have awarded that try. Bray completely folded under pressure there, so expect him to do it again
