Boom!

Rodda, Dempsey and Koroibete to get their first starts.

Tui could get a potential debut off the bench (although one to be omitted).

I would have preferred we retained Uelese but otherwise I like that team.

I think Koroibete really adds a bit of zip out wide. I feel like his current potential in attack is a bit higher than Speight's.

I'd be pretty tempted to take a little bit of a risk and go with a 6:2 bench with the plan that only McMahon and Hooper play 80 minutes in the pack. To do that I'd be leaving Kerevi out.

Hodge covers 12 and Speight covers 13 out of the positions you'd no longer have Kerevi for.

looks ok for a Shreika team, agree about Uelese, excited about Koroibete caning the Boks out wide. Also Hodge up through the guts. Would like to see Arnold back on the bench instead of Simmo but rotation is good.

Good looking team. Congrats to the run on debutants, Rodda is a classy player and will be around the Wallaby set-up for a while. Would have preferred Tui at 6 but Dempsey has shown real aggression in his last few outings so not too worried. Koroibete is lightning and has come a long way in a short period.

Not sure I agree that the team looks ok or with Cheik's stated logic.

Starting front row looks good and should be trying to build as many minutes together as possible in 2017. Robertson is mostly battling to make enough impact in scrums or around the ground. I think he is a good young player but is one of the chaps being flogged before his time. I'd honestly prefer Faulkner (or even someone like Cowan if that was possible). Slipper may be considered for the tour if his NRC comeback is successful.

The lock rotation is ridiculous. Simmo's last 3 games have been strong and I'm not sure Arnold deserved to be canned. Start one of them. Arnold could play a bench role I guess, but it would be fine to have Tui or Rodda on the bench to make a late impact. Cheik's "throw them to the wolves and pray" policy with some young players helps neither the player nor the team.

The back row is a series of better and worse compromises at the moment. Hanigan has made it relatively clear he isn't up to physically bashing people at test level yet. Check reckons Dempsey might be (though who's to really say?). If you're going to remove Hanigan's lineout ability, it would be better to do it for Timani's bulk and potential impact (even if it's for 40 mins only). I know he's not in great form, but neither is Hanigan, Dempsey or just about anyone else. A 6. McMahon 7 Hooper 8 Timani 20 Dempsey combo at least gives a sniff of the required physicality.

The backs basically pick themselves at the moment, though I'm cautiously hopeful we will see Hunt back in gold soon.

Don't mind that idea at all. A bit of reliance on the young blokes to get stuck in and duke it out with the Boks but it does seem that guys like Tui, Rodda and, from what I've seen of him, Dempsey relish getting stuck in. Plus will hopefully help neutralise the altitude factor.

Baring injury I'd be happy to see all bar Genia play out 80 in the backs.

6-2 works well when you've got Hodge and Beale both who can comfortably cover just about every position in the backline bar maybe outside.

Seems like the team has more grunt which is what people wanted. Short back-row and a second row debutant receiving TPN throws screams line out problems. Don't hate Dempsey but i don't think he's done any more to earn a start than Hanigan.

Rest is par for the course. Unless there is something i don't know happening with Uelese, i don't see why Moore is on the bench.

The backrow will again be pivotal. Imo Dempsey offers more than Hanigan in open play and he also seems to be more than adequate in the lineout. So, I expect a better performance there than in previous tests. But I still lament the lack of size and hard hitting in that trio. I'm with Hammertime in that 40 minutes of Timani might be better than 60 - 80 minutes of either Dempsey or Hanigan. And with a 6 - 2 bench as expected, the Wallabies could afford to take Timani on for a 40 minute stint.

I am starting to wonder just what Rory Arnold has done to be dropped. Two tests ago most posters agreed that Coleman and Arnold looked to be the real deal in the second row. Now his omission is pretty much passed over with little or no comment. Just how long Rob Simmons can continue to come into our national team on the basis of a perceived strength in calling lineouts amazes me. If there isn't another potential lineout caller among the harder working, more impactful locks to take over if and when Coleman is benched, then that is a failure of the coaching staff.

I have to say that I expect the likes of Etzebeth, Du Toit, Du Preez, etc to again dominate the ruck area, and there is a very good chance the Saffas will get home on the back of a swag of penalty goals.

Yes. Hard to understand the swinging door policy in the second row when we have some excellent options there and with the Coleman/Arnold partnership pretty much ticking all the boxes.
Equally difficult to get your head around no changes in the back row over so many tests when they have been warranted. We will see how it goes there this week.

I thought Dempsey's cameo last match was very good, still not certain, but he showed more then I thought he had. I hope he does well.

Not concerned about TPNs throwing as long as his minutes are managed. The wobs faster lineout approach has been much more effective this season, TPNs throwing deteriorates if he gets a head knock or he is given too many minutes and is blowing.

It is interesting that over the last few years when he knows he will play longer minutes, he is less explosive and paces himself.

I dunno man, a decent cameo at the tail end of a match against a tiring (and un-fit) Argentina side? I guess we'll see though.

What time is kick off?

Yeah

There were some things I like to see, his acceleration into the tackle was quite good and effective. Hanigan while busy and willing, he is quite one paced in attack

I still think most Aus forwards need a lot of time on technique and attitude on attack, a good old fashion NRL front rower (a Glenn Lazarus, Mark Carroll, Nathan Hindmarsh type) needs to come in to teach them how to get over the advantage line
