Surely top 6 is locked in now, looking at the draw of games for 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, the teams in 5th and 6th arent going to get caught.

A big IN for the Beasties tomorrow with Charlie Gamble listed in the team. Is this confirmed?
Few big matches with the Northern Beaches derby and Randwick put the Sir Roden Cutler Shield on the line against Gordon.

And the bench I hear is immense. Teddy Wilson, Will Harris, Chris Bell, absolute star studded team, and I think it's awesome to see in Shute.

This is exactly what we should be seeing in Shute Shield (in my opinion) after Super Rugby finishes for players out of WBs contention. It strengthens Shute Shield and raises the bar for the competition - it also allows the current SS players to show their abilities against Super Rugby contracted players.

True - the Waratahs Academy is low performance rather than high performance.

NSW Waratahs Academy need to watch way more Colts Shute Shield - they could upgrade their entire back row.

Academy guys are young and not up to it yet but can’t say plenty of Grade players didn’t get a go this season. Hooker from Gordon is the only one that looked even close to up to it. Rest got dished up consistently

Which academy with full time training stood up

While they might not be up to it yet. A number of them will go past the level of the Club players that could supposedly fix the Tahs….

You need a development platform aligned with the pros. Works for sports all over the world

Agreed - a development squad that play for their Clubs in Shute Shield and train with Waratahs full squad. Certainly it can be overweight U23s, but not simply full of Gen Blue who play limited games, and some can't even get into their Club's 2nd grade.

Could even create a brand new team in Shute Shield that is the Waratahs Development Squad? Haven't thought that through properly - not sure if realistic.
