Can I say I am so bloody happy!!!!!!!

The Commonwealth of australia had scrambled a hercules at half time to take a crew of 350 psychologists across the ditch to deal with the grief that then appeared imminent...they have no been stood down.

If you want to go on and suggest the opinion expressed by the person who started the post about the game being rigged, is subjective then you need to prove there is no evidence that would support his subjective opinion - i/e no evidence to support the game being rigged. On the other hand the poster needs to provide evidence to support his opinion that the game was rigged (introducing exhibit A - Joubert's performance) to ensure his opinion was not 'subjective'.

Personally... there is more evidence in front of me tonight to support the opinion the game was rigged. Thus in the absence of evidence to suggest otherwise (except perhaps common sense and not believing in conspiracies etc)...the opinion expressed is not subjective.

I am kind of surprised to see Kiwis posting here, I would have already called in sick for tomorrow and would be well on my way to getting sick for tomorrow if I were you! Enjoy it, I'm more than a bit jealous right now.

We should ask them if it was as good as the first time...I must say I didnt find beating France in 1999 as satisfying as beating England in 1991. Still they've only ever beaten France so I guess they have nothing to compare it to

If they're in Kiwiland ATM, tomorrow is a public holiday!

Good work to the Blackness. The Frenchies came so close though! Just need to get over the advantage line in the backs a bit more often instead of crabbing from side to side!

Well done to both teams. Was a great final to watch. Congratulations to NZ deserved world champions, but France had them on the ropes in the last 20-30 minutes.

Actually its a public holiday tomorrow (today?).

Good stuff from the French. Not really surprised they put in a good effort, thought we looked a bit hopeless at times but the boys stood up at long last. Although the French had all the ball in the second half I thought our defence was pretty solid.

Can't comment on the ref yet because I was in a fanzone and was too busy cheering, thought he missed a few of our high tackles, but then I thought their try came from a kick from a guy who was never onside (could be wrong).

Good on the French though, really stuck it to us, it was just our day.

Its subjective because not everyone holds your view and not all the people who hold a different view are irrational.
Now I'm going to have to aks you to step away from the Roo before someone gets harmed.

You need to polish up on university level critiquing. Read Donna Haraway's Situated Knowledges, all views and opinions are subjective in that they are influenced by bias. Even scientific methods are possessing of bias. Clearly this extends to your definition of 'subjective'.

I agree Utility, French will probably be fined, I doubt it will worry them, and I bet almost every kiwi and ABs will applaud them for stepping up to challenge!!

Everyone but the IRB will applaud them. It's just another example of how out of touch the IRB is with the fans of the game. Everytime i see a team confront the Haka and accept the challenge like that i think wow, we know we have a game on our hands now. Plus it's not like it only benefits the team who confronts the Haka. I remember the rugby league world cup final a couple of years ago where the Aussies and Kiwis got face to face and boy did it seem to give the Kiwis a lift.

No mate, I think you need to brush up on what is subjective v constructive.

Put it this way - if I say 'Alien's exist' is that subjective because there is little to no concrete unchallenable proof to move it from subjective to construction (fact)? No. It's a personal opinion that many people will agree with and support and many won't. By having support and those who share that opinion it no longer is a subjective opinion. It is simply an opinion. To make it constructive I would need to 'prove' my opinion is a fact.

No one has suggested anything about 'irrational'. The opinion expressed was not subjective because like above, there were plenty of people who supported that opinion. Thus moving it from the realm of simply being a 'personally expressed' thought. To prove it is constructive - the poster would need to provide evidence to support it (Jouberts performance alone would not be enough I agree). So if it isn't constructive and it's not subjective - then it's simply 'opinion'.

No... I'm not seeing what your seeing. I'm seeing McCaw going into a contest for the ball with a limp wrist... not a cocked fist intent on punching Parra. Accidental and wasn't the cause of the black eye/concussion.
