Hynes was already in the Wallabies, as was Ioane.

The man who has put his hand up in the last few weeks is Chambers. Deans will be very keen to get his hands on him. He has the potential to make a massive impact for the Wallabies at next years world cup.

You would have to have a very good argument to not pick the whole Reds backline at the moment. I know I've been sceptical about Hynes in the past - I don't think he is poor at all, but doubted if he had the "x-factor", other than being a great trier. I still can't work out how he breaks the line so much, but he does. As a unit they are potent. They should all be in the running. I hope reputations don't have too much sway this year - we need these guys to get a taste of Test footy NOW.

Think the game helps answer what happens when Quade has less time - take the right options and pass superbly to those out side him. After Giteau's shocker, there can be no debate about the Aus 10 now.

Now the debate moves to the centres. Chambers won't be in this year but if he keeps improving at this rate he's in for usre next year. A Finger with his straight running is a revelation too.

They are still going to pick Gits but they will put him in the centres. For his sake I hope it works.

Hynes is so deceptive. The way he returns kicks I sometimes wince that he'll get pummelled but he has that amazing talent for spotting holes and he can turn on the gas without effort.

I'd have him on the wing for the Wallabies, but confidently at FB if there was a key injury.

I agree with you Scotty. Chambers is a real bolter for the Wallaby squad (not team though, probably). He's playing a position we need, playing it well and doing the hard work required for his position.

When him and Horne fully come of age, it'll be fantastic.

It is hard to work out how Hynes gets through so much, but I reckon it is because he uses his head. He looks hard for gaps, and slower defenders, and has a very deceptive change of pace. He seems to go close to Larkhams patented 'ghosting' through gaps.

We could do a lot worse than Horne at 12 and Chambers at 13, even for this year.

What a game - what a night. Not good for the old blood pressure but will take games like that every week. Well done boys! Awesome!!!

so learned gents - who was better du preez or genia ? :nta:

Genia on the whole was better. He got the ball on the front foot and played a good marshalling rolwe wiht his forwards.

du Preez was immense on defense. The game required him to defend.

The Bulls defended for 60 minutes so in the context of the game Genia was better.

How can you even imagine playing Horne, a young 13, at 12 in tests? :nta:

Gits will be at 12. Cooper at 10. I'd put cash on it.

What was with the scrum feed that went straight through and led to the Bulls 2nd try?

Should it have been reset?

I don't think Scotty was saying that would be the definite Wallaby pair, but from a depth point of view, it would be very solid. We have options.

I'm with Blue - Horne is a good 13, who has been injured too much, and just coming back to it. Don't start moving him around. More 13 options are good - there is still a void to fill with Morty probably moving on.

Why are other inadequate, non-Reds players being mentioned in this thread?

Seeing Quades and Genia's passing game at the ground is just amazing, the TV doesn't pick up every angle, and to see how long and crisp the pass is from side on is some damn good viewing.
