Interesting that Vunivalu has the best ever Super Rugby try scoring strike rate of any QLD player who has scored 8 tries or more (is that enough caveats?)

8 tries in 16 games. It took Wendell 22 games to get that number of tries. Even Latho took 29 games.

It took Lachie Turner 19 games.

How does he fair compared tot he rest of the competition? We could rpobably find some more caveats to get him to number one there too.

You really don’t want to be a backline reds player who catches a injury or returning from suspension.

it seems with some quality options across the backline that you’ll need to wait for someone else misfortune to step back into the starting 15.

think about this for a moment. James O’Connor & Jock Campbell (both 2022 wallabies) don’t deserve a spot at their preferred position at the reds cause the injury replacement has been playing the house down.

32k of attendance for Dolphins openning round at Suncorp. How this affect Reds attendances? Defitinely QLD is a more crowded sport market now

I don't think it has as big an impact as you might think. Dolphins have landed in an NRL area that was not well served by the Broncos. It's not really a rugby area either. NRL gets a boost with the history of it and perhaps there is a missed opportunity for rugby.

But no real direct challenge to rugby even at a club level, let alone the Reds.

Should JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) come back into the 15 or are the Reds better off sticking with Lynagh? Based on his 2 game career we do not seem to miss much by playing Lynagh, and I think there is more upside to having him start.

I say start him, but be ready to pull him from starting at the first signs of weakness
JOC (James O'Connor) will better suit the 12 spot, he played 12 at the Force many moons ago - its not uncommon for older 10s to convert into 12s like how a young Loose Forward slowly makes their way to the Front Row lol

That's interesting if you think that Broncos is the most popular NRL club in terms of attendances. They used to beat Wallabies attedances at Suncorp.

So Brisbane is like Sydney? There are some rugby areas and then everything else is League?

Reds have out paced the Broncos on attendance on occasion, but no it's not a trend. I wouldn't describe the Brisbane rugby scene as anything like the Sydney scene, SRU and Shute Shield are a definite one-off.

In NRL Sydney has a stack of teams, Brisbane has the Broncos so if you are into League you are into the Broncos. And that support is everywhere. Now we have the Dolphins. Are there any rugby schools in Moreton? Not sure, can't think of any. Any Premier grade clubs? No. But they'd go to Norths or GPS I guess.

They have a formal relationship with Nudgee - similar to the Roosters/Scots College one. Identified school age students get brought in to board/play rugby but also be in the league academy.

Most their feeder teams are in regional areas.
