The Brumbies had 5 other props in the squad, and he (along with Jerry Y) were never going to get an opportunity, so the Brumbies did the Rebels a favour (like they did with Charles and the Force).

However, Jake White was quoted in the Crimes as saying:

''I just don't think Jono fits into our culture and rather than have him and never playing him, it makes sense for him to take this opportunity, it's a win-win situation,'' White said.

''The bottom line is we've got [prop] Scott Sio here and I think he is the future of the Brumbies.''

I have a memory good enpough to remember the bad old days, and I am still happy to support Link's decisions 110% of the time. I have not seen anything that will change this yet. (could change if Rod Davies get a massive long term contract)

Jono will be a good signing.

Any news on where the trials will be played? I imagine Cairns will be a goer again and will the Reds play the Brumbies like the last two years? Brumbies are on the third year of the Darwin deal so for selfish reasons I would love to see them bring the Reds to Darwin.

They could use him in a similar to sense to Caleb Ralph... Reds don't have a foreign marquee player, and Ed would only be used in the case of injuries.

So who has been selected in the Reds EPS?
Just announced

Kevin Davis, Prop, University
Blake Enever, Lock, Easts
Jarrad Buttler, Backrow, Easts
UJ Seuteni, Utility Back, Easts
Joel Faulkner, Wing, Easts

Whilst I'm estatic (as a blatantly one-eyed Easts Supporter) that there are 4 tigers in the squad, I am pretty much disgusted by the selections of UJ and Joel.

Blake, JB and Davis all deserve their selections, but UJ had a horrific year and was struggling at Premier level, whilst Joel Faulkner did not even get on the park.

How can Link possibly think UJ is a better prospect then Dion Taumata? How can he think Faulkner, injured for pretty much 2 seasons now, deserves a gig ahead of someone like Lindsay Crook or Rex Tapuai (Force?).

Because i can think of 3 people who had better performances then both UJ and Faulkner in 2012 and i think most peopel would i agree with me.

Flyhalfs
1. Dion Taumata
2. Luke Everson
3. Rohan Saifoloi (Qld player playing Shute shield)

Outside backs
1. Dylan Taikato-Smith
2. Pama Fou
3. Brett Gillespie
4. Rex Tapuai
5. Any of the Easts backs that played the season
