Not sure on the age but probably early-mid 40's.
Coached at TSS for 2 years - 2007 and 2008, maybe 2006 but I don't think so.

Called a mate at TSS - Taylor coached 2006 and 2007, Jones 2008 and 2009, Wallace 2010

Matt played his junior rugby in Scotland, I believe he was in the national U20 team and was making ground towards the Scottish National team when injury called a halt.
Not sure from where he came before TSS but his impact was immediate, the players loved him for his positive communication and his ability to mentor them and bring out their best performances.
He is very astute in reading the game and a player.
He didn't go directly to assistant Reds - he took over the Qld U20/academy side and moved up from there to the bigger lads a year later.

No he didn't play his Junior rugby in Scotland. He went to school at Villanova in Brisbane and then Teachers college. Taught on a contract at Villanova after returning from Scotland were he played club rugby and may have played for Scotland. I will ask next time I see him. Left Villanova to take up a position with TSS. The rest is history.

Actually... Tattsy was College Captain at St. Laurence's, was part of the 1989 1st XV that included Brendan Cannon, Tyrone Mandrusiak, Mark Connors, Mike Pennisi and Chris Frangi. Played for Sunnybank 1st Grade and then after teaching at Villa moved to Scotland I believe. Tattsy is not only a champion coach but a champion human being. The Reds have a good guy there...finally!!

Sorry yes he did go to Lauries, and he had 2 stints teaching at Villa as he coached taught my eldest in the under 14's on his return from Scotland.

Link's got a big gut

I reckon he's dropped a fair bit.

Holmes has a got a bit of a Pato Noriega thing going, and has bulked up a bit (ignoring the 'uniform')

Well looks like all the stuff I was told is crap - oh well. Apologies for misleading in that case. Definitely barking up the wrong street there.
I was sure we were told he played scotland u20's or A's where was injured and ended his playing days.

Jarrod has a future if he can pick up on last year's efforts. He is true worker and has great talents.

Shep looks to be in tremendous condition doesn't he? great news.

Who is the young red nut in all of the preseason photos, looks a tough lad.

As only a youngster, I can honestly say this is the best Reds squad I have seen put together.

from the photos you can definetly see that Liam Gill has packed on a bit of bulk, and James Hanson is looking pretty fit as well, whether this translates into a onfield performance or not is another thing, but its good to know that they are at least fit.

Tranquility, you are most defiently right, this is the best Reds team put together at least in the past 8 years, even from a basic perspective of counting how many current Wallabies there are in the starting team, the only ones missing from the backline are Rodney Davies and Will Chambers, in the forward pack the only exclusions are Leroy Houston and 'openside flanker'. Yes yes, wallaby caps arent the be all and end all, but its at least a basic indicator.

How many different schools has Jones been the coach of now?

Ipswich Grammar for a hundred years, TSS for 2 (2008 and 2009) but assisted i think for another year in 2007, and Churchie in 2010 onwards

wow! Will Genia back training. Probably just non-contact, possibly just touch footy. But the man would've just stepped off the plane from the Baabaas game.

Marsh said one specific area he has been working on is improving the sprinting techniques and times of the backs who were undergoing a series of tests at the Queensland Academy of Sport on Monday.

"Particularly with the backs there has been a big power culture, but we've been working on a sprint squad mentality," Marsh said.

"Acceleration and maximum velocity is what we've been working on.

"We were having a bit of a look today and I'm happy with the way they are progressing."
They want to be fast! I like it.
