helped by the longest season ever, but still brag worthy

I'm so glad you pointed that out.
So it begs the question is there any team out there that hasn't improved on their try/points scoring tally (or similar) this season? There are more games so it should be everyone (except the Rebels).

It also means the Reds have had to keep their role going longer which is a credit to them. It doesn't give a fair reflection on some of the individual records achieved though like Quade passing Eales on the points scores tally.

I would obviously like to see us win it but whatever happens here on in, I am truly bloody proud of the 2011 Reds.

Agree 100% Ruggo. IMO, it's particularly impressive that from about Rnd 1 or 2 S14 2010 to today as No 1 on the S15 table, there has been a more or less consistent line of improvement. Setbacks yes, but recovery and further growth of the team's performance soon followed. All this in about 16 months or so of elapsed competition months, and well less than 2 years since Link's arrival in late 2009.

What I most like is this team plays for enjoyment and for each other. It's not highly laden with world-class, proven Test players. The results have come from within.

Also, I think the Reds became the first team in Super Rugby history to rack up more than 60 points on the table in a season (of course helped along a fair bit by the longer season and getting 4 points per bye now).

How has Any Sauer been playing Brothers? I was very impressed with him when he played for the Reds a couple of seasons back...

Also do the U20s miss the entire finals campaign?

Jono Lance has suddenly become a very important player for the Reds, and I have complete faith in him to do the job.

Does anyone know how tickets for the semi's will be let out?
I am a Forever Red member but will be away until the 24th and don't want to miss out on better tix which may be the case if everything is posted.

With the Reds needing at least two points to guarantee a top finish (since the Stormers will play their game after the Reds), I wonder if they will do either:

a) Go all out attack to try and get 4 tries, and if they lose they may still get 2 bonus points
b) Just play 'finals football', and try and mix attack and field position to grind out a win

Most likely b), but you never know.

The Reds have said that they will call all members but they are notoriously bad at communication regarding memberships, seating etc. The finals information page on redsrugby.com.au suggests that Forever Red memberships can buy finals tickets from the 22nd June (with full members able to pre-purchase from Ballymore on 19th and from Ticketek from 20th). General public tickets go on sale on the 24th so I would suggest wherever you are that you purchase tickets from Ticketek on the 22nd.

FYI, purchasing through Ticketek can only be done at a Ticketek outlet or over the phone, internet purchase not an option.

It sounds like they may be "lucky" to even get to NZ with the ash (one would expect if this is the case the game might be called a draw thus handing the Reds top spot and a two week break). While this prevents further injury I'm sure that they would rather play the game. If the game is on I would expect them to play for the win - being in "winning rugby" form will be much more useful than "attacking rugby" come finals time. Also, against the Chiefs, playing smart rugby and dominating field position is much more likely to lead to a 4 try BP than an all out attacking game plan (me thinks).

Considering the situation I would much rather get given 2 points, while the lads sit in Brisbane and get physio. I think they would prefer that option as well

Digby, Ant and Beau should all be right for the finals!!! No mention of Lucas, Harris or Hynes though

I wouldn't want a team I support having 2 weeks off going into sudden death semi's.
I would prefer they play, and cross my fingers & hope for no injuries.

Another McKenzie call located former Reds and Brumbies utility Tim Atkinson playing club rugby in Darwin now his career in Japan is over. He is flying planes so he has extra versatility if needed in a hurry.

If he is playing up here, he is not even going to go close to being remotely conditioned enough to play super rugby.

Seems like it's outside backs that are in the shortest supply. What about Henari Veratau, former Red..isn't he playing in the Shute Shield? Even more contemporary, what about Brando Va'alu, where is he playing at the moment?

I'm campaigning for Morgan Turinui, I have no idea where or who he's playing for but chuck him in the backline for namesake

I think you missed the pun mate, the journalist was referring to his ability to fly a plane and therefor help them get to hamilton.
