not sure what blue will take as the bigger insult, being called a tahs supporter or a stormers fan.

Damn! Sorry Blue! I had a brain fart.

My original post has been corrected and thanks to mark for bringing my blunder into the light.

As far as I can tell, the ARU have asked themselves whether quade is in the best 32 players in the country.

Given that he appeared at 10 in the bled despite barely breaking into a jog in super rugby after a knee reconstruction, I think he was and is in in the top 32.

Clearly his attitude and commitment to Australian rugby is or was questionable. As I see it, the ARU's assessment was more summative (judged not worthy - piss off) than iterative (you are a valued member of our team, but pick up your game in these areas).

I would have preferred more of an olive branch, but Cooper made his own bed and it's all up to him. If he really wants it he can earn it.

If the ARU is designating contracts based on their value to the Wallabies, I wonder what the top 32 player list would look like? In a fairly rough order, maybe it would be something like:

1. James Horwill
2. Will Genia
3. David Pocock
4. Kurtley Beale
5. James O'Connor
6. Stephen Moore
7. Digby Ioane
8. Berrick Barnes
9. Benn Robinson
10. Ben Alexander
11. Tatafu Polota-Nau
12. Adam Ashley-Cooper
13. James Slipper
14. Sekope Kepu
15. Pat McCabe
16. Michael Hooper
17. Wycliff Palu
18. Sitaleki Timani
19. Scott Higginbotham
20. Dave Dennis
21. Radike Samo
22. Mike Harris
23. Dom Shipperley
24. Nick Cummins
25. Kane Douglas
26. Nick Phipps
27. Rob Simmons
28. Liam Gill
29. Ben Tapuai
30. Anthony Fainga'a
31. Saia Fainga'a
32. Dan Palmer
33. Paddy Ryan
34. Joe Tomane
35. Cooper Vuna
36. Rob Horne
37. Bernard Foley
38. Chibba Hansen
39. Nic White

I have excluded Nathan Sharpe as he definitely won't be contracted next season.

This isn't even everyone who has played for the Wallabies in 2012 but the list is pretty long already. I'm sure I'm forgotten a few people.

It's not surprising that a player who has been injured for most of the year and then has publicly criticised the Wallabies and the ARU isn't considered in the top 32 players anymore.

The way this has all happened is bad for Australian Rugby, but the reality is that I don't think the ARU should have offered a sizable contract to Cooper given what had happened. Cooper was free to play next year and only needs to get selected a couple of times to get his contract upgraded. Offering him a substantial contract at the expense of another player out of the fear that QC (Quade Cooper) might leave would scream of giving the squeaky wheel the grease. Even if that had happened, QC (Quade Cooper) might have left anyway.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Wilder is the only one who has broken the story with all other news reports stating according to channel 9. Until there is a quote from an official source I'm going to keep my head in the sand and pretend like none of this is happening.

Would you be happy if the ARU did the same thing to McCabe in a years time?

I'd be very happy for the ARU to offer any back on an incentive only contract, especially those who struggle to demonstrate an ability to pass the pill to their outside men.

Last time I looked the incentives were significantly better than working in the Jarse Co Salt mines.

Same, I'm calling the bluff. It devalues you're client if the opposite party knows you've got no where else to go.

Facilities that facilitate a national team - That's right I forgot.

The facilities facilitating the Reds as viewed on Code Red seem adequate enough.

That's an interesting point. I think this was the part he wanted to get across most, but did so the least eloquently.

Talking to people I am lucky enough to get to talk to, I know what he was trying to say was that the Wallabies don't use the best facilities available to them, and they should.

Using Ballymore as an example, as you have, Where would you expect the Wallabies to train when they have a Brisbane test? Ballymore. But they don't (and I acknowledge they do the odd session there) they base themselves at TSS on the gold coast.

When they have a test in Sydney, shouldn't they use the facilities used by the Waratahs? You would think so, but they don't. They base themselves in Coogee and ignore the better facilities they could have.

The same happens in Vic and WA. I'm not sure about Canberra, but I would guess they do their own thing.

One of the advantages of using the better facilities the Super teams have, is you could involve the coaching and S&C staff from the provinces and have much better top to bottom buy in, all the way through the systems, not to mention the staff at the provinces getting the opportunity to work with the national team and the resulting experience that would mean as they grew into their careers.

But, he fumbled that one and a great point was lost by people saying they're a national team and can't be warehoused in one location, or "facility"

It wasn't just that though, their entire approach, from medical through to training is less professional than the provinces. I've had that from plenty more sources than Quade.

It's a shame he didn't put himself across properly, it was a great opportunity lost as he has been put out and put down. There are problems in the wallaby setup and if people can't see that from the shambles we have become and put two and two together, I don't think they will ever get it.

Did you watch the vision of QC (Quade Cooper)'s lips moving on the ninemsn website?

I'm pretty sure this isn't a Ch nein beatup. If QC (Quade Cooper) wasn't shown speaking on the Ch 9 piece than I would be inclined to wait for another source to report it. The footage of QC (Quade Cooper) seems pretty compelling (and final).

I've said it more than once and I'll say it again.

Anybody who decided to contract year by year and back himself is gambling with his career. If you spend a year mostly injured and causing controversy then your value will be less.

When you gamble and lose you don't throw your toys out of the cot.

I am with you, till I hear it from quade and the Reds I will not believe it.

I haven't seen the report, are you being sarcastic or is there quotes?
