It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Wilder is the only one who has broken the story with all other news reports stating according to channel 9. Until there is a quote from an official source I'm going to keep my head in the sand and pretend like none of this is happening.

But Danny Weidler is reporting it. It has to be true.

Maybe he just wanted to see this thread get to 100 pages and thought he would give it a kick along.

Well, it's no surprise that Weidler is reporting it as he's Khoder's go to man.........

And if this was a negotiation ploy it isn't going to work after what's gone on this year.

Didn't Weidler report a while ago that Deans was gone? His credibility has to be questioned. I recon it's being put out by Coopers camp to build up hype for a boxing match and he will continue to negotiate with the ARU. It's a classic Koder Nasser move.

Your speculation seems to support the ARU. I suspect you would offer a different view if this were a Tahs player.

Nope. You are equal bloody vermin :)D ) as far as I am concerned but care to explain? Because I live in NSW? Nope.

I'm not taking side. I am speculating over what I think has transpired which is what we do around here, no?

Taking the facilities thing a bit further MrTimms, Silly old me just assumed that the Men in Gold would sponge off the Franchises facilities when "on tour", with appropriate payment for use of such of course.

I can understand that they stay at Coogee Crownplaza and use Coogee Oval for some training runs, but I'm somewhat bemused that they don't book themselves in for some time at the Tah's Gym for weights work etc. It is only 20 minutes away on the bus, and it is a RUGBY Specialised facility. Same for Reds, Ponies and Force.

On another angle, what about a return to Coffs Harbour and the Camp Wallaby experiment? They all seemed to be happy campers then, or are my historical rose coloured spectacles losing their focus?

IF it were just injuries, then there are guys in that list that should not have ARU top ups.

If it were about form, then there also guys in that list that should not have ARU top ups.

This is not about injury or form, but about punishment. Which then comes back to the question, why not be professional a month ago and tell him he has no money?

In my eyes the ARU have handled this just as poorly and just as petulantly as Cooper. On one side we have professional businessmen and negotiators which you would assume some intelligence, on the other side we have a young rugby player of questionable intelligence.

Who would you expect to handle the situation better and more evenly? Who should therefore deserve more criticism?
They played the perfect game.
QC (Quade Cooper) repeatedly stated that he would prefer to concentrate on the Reds only next year and that money did not motivate him.
They offered him a contract that allowed him to play with the Reds, but also the opportunity play for the Wobs, should things change.
How much should they offer someone who is ATM a marginal member of the top 32, who is currently injured?
Add to that, he is a serial offender at embarrassing the game, who also has a very poor relationship with the current coach.

Did you watch the vision of QC (Quade Cooper)'s lips moving on the ninemsn website?

I'm pretty sure this isn't a Ch nein beatup. If QC (Quade Cooper) wasn't shown speaking on the Ch 9 piece than I would be inclined to wait for another source to report it. The footage of QC (Quade Cooper) seems pretty compelling (and final).
Hugh I'm pretty sure that interview of Quade is oldish footage. Nine have spliced it in to support Weidler's segment.

I haven't seen the report, are you being sarcastic or is there quotes?
No I clicked on a link to ninemsn a few pages back and as well as KenandBarbie Sutcliffe talking to Dunny Wilder breaking the news, there was some vision of QC (Quade Cooper) himself unshaven looking a bit of a stunned mullet like he was on the Rugby Club saying "I guess I'll have to try boxing or overseas because I like challenges" or words to that same general effect. At least I'm pretty sure that I saw that. You have got me doubting what I saw now.

I read an article a month or two ago on the pros/cons of Camp Wallaby. Apparently it was great for families, which suited the squad at the time, however was not good for the current squad who were largely younger and without kids. I believe it quote Samo as the only one with kids (so maybe the article was actually written before Archie Barnes was born).

Apparently it was considered that a return to camp wallaby would lead to a lot of unrest on the current camp.

About the only thing the ARU does competently at the moment.

In the clip I saw he talked pretty generally about boxing as part of his training/recovery and that 'getting in the ring would be something different and that he would have to look at those options'.

Just heard the news the ARU have given him a big pay cut.
Good on them for showing him who's boss.
Some people need the cane.
