Hugh are you insane? Richie has given him a huge serve, barely concealed.

This so so hard for me. Quade vs the fucking Robbie and Richie Show. I think by giving them ammunition this makes me even more frustrated with QC (Quade Cooper).

I can understand your interpretation of the article.

I have issues with headline seeking journos badgering people with leading questions which are then misrepresented to support the tabloid headline. Looking at the direct quotes in the Fox Sports article, I just don't see a big serve. I see a series of diplomatic statements made by a media savvy experienced captain.

"If I know anything, a team like that, they'll be in Pretoria and be pretty tight about getting the job done," McCaw said.

"I know guys like Nathan Sharpe, they're good rugby men, they're proud men, they'll be doing everything they can to ensure their environment works.

"I guess sometimes with peripheral stuff you can't worry about it. I'm sure that's exactly what Robbie will be emphasising.

"I can't understand someone going on like that but that's just the way it is I suppose."

Asked if that's the way Cooper was, McCaw said: "Seems to be doesn't it ... I don't really know the guy so who knows?"

I admire your balls for putting forward the argument that a non drinking, non smoking, clean living, Aboriginal and Muslim, hero and outspoken advocate of Indigenous people is not marginalised in contemporary Australia.

What Nasser gives these guys is choices and opportunities and therefore a sense of importance and value. Please compare that to the condescending and mocking JON missive that virtually said 'accept the offer or f. off'. A message aimed not only at QC (Quade Cooper), but also to others in the team who might be thinking of adding to the argument.
Mundine is marginalised? Wonder why?
He built a career from antagonising the public, and has been rewarded financially for it.He is happy with his choices, you should be happy for him too.
The condescending and mocking missive? That is rubbish.
You infer that they are stalled in their negotiations & JON has come out publicly with an ultimatum to sign or fuck off.
We all know the ARU was forced to reply publicly to some of QC (Quade Cooper)'s outrageous public statements/demands(that he chose not to raise privately first)
As to your statement about Nasser giving his clients a sense of importance and value, I think he needs to tone it down with QC (Quade Cooper).
He seems to have taken it a little too far IMHO.

And Joeys play in Pink not Cerise ?, and Diveball is Soccer not Football ?

The Wobs strip may look yellowish but our national colour is Gold. The Wobs are the Men in Gold.

Referring to the Wobs strip as "Yellow" is reserved for non-supporters and used as a wind up and cheap shot in the same way that some nasty people refer to cerise as pink. At one level pink and yellow have negative connotations associated with them.

No self-respecting Aussie would ever refer to our strip as Yellow.

HJ - I nearly bit on this one too but then I saw his AB and Saders logos and realised we were being tormented

My response was not to ACT Crusader's windup. I know exactly where he is coming from, and am as guilty as most others in that regard as I frequently indulge in similar when I post about the Soap Dodgers, Spud Bashers, Garlic Munchers, Darkness, Shakey Isles etc.

My point is to really question if QC (Quade Cooper) really has any loyalty to Australia at all. Under stress and pressure, a persons true beliefs can be exposed. Live TV is a pretty stressful situation at the best of times. QC (Quade Cooper) refers to the Wobs jumper as Yellow - a traditional insult/windup. Deep in his heart of hearts, It would appear that he is still a New Zealander possibly with a chip on his shoulder about not having a silver fern on his chest.

I suspect you might have been reading a bit too much Freud.

I just can't understand the rationale behind deciding NOT to represent your country.

It is not as it this was the apartheid era, when some players chose not to tour or play against the Saffers on moral grounds.

Maybe there are other issues apart from not having a facility to facilitate a national team that worry QC (Quade Cooper), but FFS refusing to play for the National Team is biting the feeding hand.

From Head Saffer H Meyer via my mate Grumbles report in the SMH:
Meyer then emphasised the stresses of the job and the difficulties of juggling selections. ''I'm really passionate about the Springboks and my country. It feels for me sometimes that I have to make life and death decisions. I know it's only a game. But I've said to the guys, when you play for South Africa, it's almost more important than life and death,'' Meyer said.

2 things: it was like hearing the "c word' on TV when I heard it, it stopped me dead. And then I wondered if maybe the wallabies referred to it that way - in house, in the know sort of thing: I doubt it but you never know.
NZ learnt the Carlos Spencer lesson in 2003 they would NEVER repeat it with Carlos II.

I don't agree with Quade's methods but I think to suggest he is dishonoring the Gold jersey is disingenuous - he expressed he wants to to be best for the his country. His point seems to be the current setup is dishonoring the jersey and tradition.

Let's not forget Deans put the boot into Cooper post Argentina game. Other players who have played like shit have not been singled out before. Another example of Deans (and Nuci) extremely poor man management.

A bit of digression.

Is it wrong to suggest the problem "children" of Aus rugby at the moment are the guys signed from school, without further higher education or actually never having to do a 9 to 5 job?

They are all of that ilk aren't they?

The best for the country from QC (Quade Cooper) may be for him to do exactly what he has decided to do, that is not play. He is a selfish and divisive element that should be kept as far from Gold as possible.

Calling the Gold Jumper "Yellow" is unforgiveable.

Kevin Rudd is responsible for dishonouring the Wallabies the most according to King Quade. The Ruddmeister is the one who put the kybosh on the ARU Facility in Brisbane as a cost saving measure IIRC. Pretty sure that facility would also have had some decent Injury prevention and management staff as well. Job Done - Thanks Kevin, it is your fault that QC (Quade Cooper) is going to be lost to the Wobs.

Either way, things don't look good for QC (Quade Cooper).

I have come to the conclusion that QC (Quade Cooper) was so very nervous on the Rugby Club because he realised how big a hole he has dug, but without the correct guidance and most likely lacking some humility due to the pedestal he is placed on, didn't back down and has now made things much worse. Primarily because his greivances lacked any real substance.

The tide of public opinion has well and truly turned on him now, judging by the last 5 pages of this thread.

The only way back now is for a coaching change and for Quade to sign the ARU contract, shut his mouth and let time heal the wounds.

What did he say exactly? That he thought about taking him off but decided against it?

That is a pretty mild putting of the boot from a coach really, and hardly worth getting all upset over. If Quade can't handle that sort of criticism then he needs to harden up.
