Qld Premier Rugby 2024

Still doesn’t explain why the competition round bye was two weeks ago instead of being on 10 August??
I don't know what to tell ya man, maybe open the Rx app and try figure this out for yourself. Answer is probably fairly obvious if you just look.

Point is, not everything is Rugby Australia's fault or mismanagement.

If it’s so obvious explain it then. My point is that the higher ups don’t give a shit about grassroots and club rugby. The QRU should’ve made the competition round bye on 10 August like what used to happen when there was a test match in either Sydney or Brisbane.

I'm not disagreeing with the issues on this scheduling clash but under your thinking - the competition wide bye would be after the end of the regular rounds and the start of finals ??? (10th Aug being the last regular season round).

No but the majority of things are and that is why the game is in the rubbish state it’s in.

Coming to the pointy end this weekend with 2v3 and 4v5. With only six points between second and sixth and four rounds to go it's going to be all on the line

With Damian Steele resigning from the filth to take up the Western Force Academy role, who will be the new rugby manager at Crosby?
My sources tell me it won’t be Pup McCormack as he earns too much at Rohrig. Apparently the Prem grade manager Sheldon Alcatraz thinks he is a shoe in. I really hope the rugby gods don’t let that happen.

Congrats to Damian for the gig. If Shelton Alcatraz gets it I can only see Crosby going backwards at a fast rate of knots. Although he is close to the president Geoff Rodgers and he is known for making dumb decisions……..

Wow that’s an upper cut to the Filth President.
He’s overseen a successful period for the club from Crosby.
I don’t know what you are alluding to with “dumb decisions” but I think you need to appreciate that all QPR clubs (bar Bond & Uni) are taking on the responsibility for running junior rugby - sometimes decisions are difficult to make and make all stakeholders happy.

Agreed.
Sure looks like FTF and Geoff Rodgers have history…

I watched the Bond V Brothers yesterday and the Stan commentary was terribl. There was no excitement in his voice and I’m not sure he knew the players name. He was very poor

No history at all. I just know that since he became president the club’s culture and the vibe at Crosby has been on a steep decline. Speak to club legends like Stumpy Twist and you will understand.

tough gig I reckon being a commentator for club rugby on Stan.

job is a lot easier when you have a partner, someone doing colour commentary.

80+ minutes solo of nothing but play by play and colour commentary in the play stoppages is hard work.

GPS having to navigate a pretty rough time as a club at the moment. I believe swept by Wests as a club on the weekend.

Looks like there will still be some finals teams but talent at the top end and depth down the bottom end are issues.
