I totally disagree.

UJ is the weakest link in a potent Tigers backline.

I have a feeling the kid was a prodigal talent at school & got a contract purely based on his attributes (Big, Black & Fast)

Now from the 2 games vs WESTS i have watched UJ i see a boy lost amongst men.

I think when you say he is good enough to be a regular Supe 15 player you are seeing it through the Rose shaded glasses of a Tigers fan.

*Enever & Stolhberg I think are more likely to be Reds regular fixtures!!!

I agree that Enever and Stolhberg will make it to the next level. And also that UJ probably doesn't deserve his free ride in Prem Grade. But I also don't think him playing Colts is going to help him, because of his size speed and skill his poor decision making and work ethic won't be punished. Which is the same point I heard when someone in the crowd suggested Reserve Grade.

Can anyone shed some light on whether the Reds have a club rugby selection policy?

Where's TD, because Stollberg had another pretty good game yesterday, in the line out especially.

Also any reports from Uni vs Brothers?

UJ is making gains every game he plays. Would he pick the positon he is in at the moment - probably not.
He is showing great character for one so young. He has gone from school boy rugby to Prem grade, via rep footy, without any consistency of a stable team for a season.
Yeah he makes mistakes - but they are getting less and less. How many times have we held our breath with some of the things Quade has done on the field - anyone remember that kick pass?
You can see his talent - decision making comes from experience and age. 10 is a very pivitol position and big responsibilty yesterday. With Easts training and guidance he will get there.
Looks to me as if Rugby is trying to keep him but give him space to learn. Tough line to walk - just hope he appreciates it.
Thought Easts played a very tough forwards game yesterday. Norths were always going to play the style of rugby to disrupt Easts game plan. They stood up well.
Enever and Stolberg worked well out there.
Good to see some of the lads rested a bit - notice a bit of strapping for niggles creeping in.

I really think UJ hasn't played his best position. He is a 12, plain and simple, he is so strong in contact and pretty good defensively. He doesn't have the vision or decision making to play 10 or 15. But he won't be get an opportunity to play there (or at 10) for Easts with Skelton and Brandon.

Right now it's one moment of brilliance to 3 costly mistakes.

Everyone keeps saying he is a 12, but I have never seen him run off someone else. Until I see him show a willingness to run a line instead of standing so deep and flat footed I don't see him as a 12.

UJ, as a lot of kids do,has talent - to keep 1 kid in thje sandbox (and pay him) for 4 years is crazy.
let these kids develop in Colts and Prems and if another franchise wants to take the punt - let them

This weekend could define the Final 4. Souths can still make the 4 if they win their remaining games so a win over Easts is imperative. If Sunnybank beat Brothers it will make like very difficult for GPS.
On the flip side if both results above occurred then GPS would need to beat Easts to stay in touch. If this occurred them Easts would be faced with a must win game against Uni or they could miss out on the finals.
Looks like Souths will have Quade for this weekend with Robbie favoring Berrick. Bank will have at least 6 SupeRugby players.

I think he plays his best rugby at 15, picking his moments to chime in, although he doesn't seem to be getting a go there.

He has had a few games there recently. He fumbled a bit and was found isolated more then a few times. I would rather seem him on the wing, which is an option atm with Dagg disappearing and Wilder on holidays.

Quade is probably not suiting up for the Magpies because he'd rather be in Sydney watching the Bledisloe Cup match in seats just behind the wallabies bench rather then get belted by a big Tigers forward pack & taken to school by an equally impressive flyhalf in Matt Brandon.

I think Quade will be available next weekend for Souths as I don't expect the ARU to fly over the whole squad to NZ & put them up in hotel rooms for next weekends bledisloe cup match.. But i am unsure of that & what the ARU protocol is on playing squad 24 through 30

An article i read today said Mike Harris was the emergency, which I would be the case next week aswell. So it is surprising not to see Quade in the Souths lineup. It was a great moment to see him get sent off and have to walk past the Easts supports at Bottomley park a few years back.

I have not seen the team lists but I imagine Moore & PoltaNau are the hookers.

it'd be nice to see Saia have a run for GPS but i Imagine he will be seated behind the wallabies bench cheering on his brother this weekend.

Haha I was at that game, he put a late hit on the fullback and got a piece of cheese for it.

Long bow Bert, to say Matty Brandon is equally impressive. May be to the Tigers faithfull. He is an impressive club 10 but why do you think he has not been picked up by a Super 15 outfit? He's a bit behind

That was before he came back on & proceeded to tear the Tiggers to shreds! I to was at that game :)
Article I read was that Quade had to stay in Wallaby camp & work with the strength & conditioning coach before fulfilling commitments with Fox Sports. I'm sure he'd love to be out there orchestrating another 50 point flogging for the mighty Magpies, but alas, not to be.
