Tigerland do you know why they are restricting the play of 7's players? Im not really familiar with the 7s programs and when circuits start/finish but I thought it was finished for the year? GPS have also had limited access to their three 7's players over the last few weeks.

The Australian 7's team are playing in the Oceania 7's tournament at the end of the month in Sydney. It is a qualifier for the last 7's RWC so I can see why they are keen to rest players.

The QRU article makes it hard to tip against Uni. Particularly with Hanson back for them.
What is everyone elses thoughts on Uni V Brothers

I think your dreaming saying it doesnt make a difference, the reds front row that played for Sunnybank last year single handedly won them the grand final with penalty tries and a yellow card just from the scrum. Im of the opinion that Reds players should be allowed to play where they like. it puts clubs who have no money at a terrible disadvantage but thats just the way it goes. At the start of the year the Fainga'a twins manager rang around the clubs to see who could offer the boys the best "incentive" to play for their club.. unfortunatley some clubs just cant offer players anything but again i think thats just how the cookie crumbles and forcing players to play for a club against their will would be a shit fight. everyone should just get on with it i think

Of course it makes a difference if they play, Cooper carved it up for Souths last week. The point is they don't play enough throughout the year to make a difference to the competition overall, I think the relative closeness of the log bears this out. Apart from the handful that don't make the Wallabies squad, and good luck to those clubs that have those players. I agree, everyone should just get on with it.

Fainga'a's tweeted they'll be playing for GPS this weekend.

I'm so shitted off that Easts don't play any teams with Wallabies.

Unfortunatley Easts reserve grade is not very good so thats not much of a compliment for Mullins, no doubt he could plug a hole in premier grade for a while but is not an option if they are looking to win the comp. likewise with Krelle and UJ, Luckily for Easts there is nothing wrong with Matt Brandon and he will be back after the bye, he has a hairline fracture of his fibula which needs no surgery or brace or anything. which is great news for tigers because he's easily the best 10 in the comp. they consistently win games of the back of his direction, general play kicking and goal kicking. Unfortunately Dallan Murphy has had a full knee reconstruction and wont be back this year so i have grave doubts over the bretherens ability to win the comp with Taikao Simpson at 10. he doesnt tackle, and his decision making is ordinary, good winger though. they need to find something else if they are a hope. All in all i think the competition still depends on whether everybody can keep sunnybank out of the finals. if they make it they will win fairly easily, just too many rep players to come back.

So I am expecting an official statement rescinding this appraisal of Jack Mullins after you read this weeks score sheet. You too Tigerland12

Yeah yeah shut up haha. He did play very very well, credit too him. Although I thought Easts were shithouse. The whole game was relatively rubbish, but 5 points is 5 points.

Oh and UJ.....still have no dea how he's starting for Easts, let alone a Reds contract.

I over heard some guy in the crowd say that all Reds and Reds Academy players must play prem grade, either start or off the bench. This was in reply to a suggestion he play Reserve Grade. Not sure if how accurate this is?

For the record I think he will be good enough to be a regular Super 15 player, but not for a number of years. Like 4.

I totally disagree.

UJ is the weakest link in a potent Tigers backline.

I have a feeling the kid was a prodigal talent at school & got a contract purely based on his attributes (Big, Black & Fast)

Now from the 2 games vs WESTS i have watched UJ i see a boy lost amongst men.

I think when you say he is good enough to be a regular Supe 15 player you are seeing it through the Rose shaded glasses of a Tigers fan.

*Enever & Stolhberg I think are more likely to be Reds regular fixtures!!!
