Lindommer said:Haven't slept a wink all week thinking about this issue. Let's have a good look at the entrails of this incident. Here's a sequence of events:
- Italy play NZ in Milan, with an Australian referee, Stuart Dickinson
- NZ lead by 14 late in the game when Italy get a number of scrums 5m from NZ's goal-line
- there are 8 scrum resets, some say NZ at fault, others say Italy
- Graham Henry (NZ coach) furious about the fact NZ are penalised for improper scrum practice, he considers Italy to be at fault
- NZ player, Tialata tweets Graham Henry (NZ coach) will meet with Paddy O'Brien (a NZer), the iRB referees' manager, when NZ arrive in London
- NZ coach meets with iRB referees' manager (a NZer) in front of a NZ journalist, Marc Hinton
- In an unprecedented action Paddy O'Brien (a NZer), the iRB referees' manager, publicly criticises the Australian referee's performance with Graham Henry (the NZ coach) in front of Marc Hinton, a NZ journalist, advising him Dickinson was wrong in his rulings over the final scrums and will be given some training to remedy those incorrect rulings
- NZ journalist reports meeting on NZ website, Stuff
- NZ rugby supporters go ballistic
I've looked at this incident back-to-front and upside-down (and even inside-out) for a common thread and buggered if I can find one. I must confess I'm at a complete loss as to what we should now do.
Oom Biff sometimes I wish I can go back there but they'll smell me like a rotton rat! No matter the name I would try.Biffo said:Register at TSF under a new name, stick up what you posted here and see if you can set a record for minimum life on that board.

NTA said:the ... scrums aren't really an issue with Tialata

Scrum 1 - ... No penalty try because they didn't look like they were going to score.
Scrum 2 - ... That one was a bit of a mess ... the Italians aren't going anywhere.
Ask nicely.Lindommer said:Biffo said:Register at TSF under a new name, stick up what you posted here and see if you can set a record for minimum life on that board.
Went in through the front door as L, added the bit about Paddy apologising to Dickinson. Certainly killed comment on THAT thread.
I'm tempted to go back and add Nick's scrum-by-scrum observations re the guilty parties.

I am surprised at the lack of response on TSF to your post.. actually, no I'm not. All kiwi's that i know and chat rugby with agree that Paddy's made a knob end of himself, the Italy scrummed destroyed us and it's time to move on.
But please, by all means keep convincing yourself that this is an entire NZ run beat up and conspiracy. I do find it ironic how suddenly all Aussies are scrum experts though, given that your scrum has been going backwards for years and only started going forwards once you got a kiwi coach....
Errr, the irony is all in your views. :lmao:
You write first that all your mates and you agree ..... .... . Then you imply that only kiwis and Robbie D know about scrumming. Given the whacking that your scrum has been taking that is irony defined.
MajorlyRagerly said:Must say though it has been bloody lovely today to see nobody talking about ref's after yesterdays matches. Very refreshing.
Scorz said:Well in that case I apologise. Sorry, Biffo. There have been a few instances where that does occur but the example I gave which kicked me into rant mode is a fail. :baxter:Biffo said:Scorz said:"You and your mates" eh Biffo... :
[rant]Look, I like coming here, but one thing that gets on my scrotum fluff is when you blokes start saying "On the Fern" as if everyone there ever agrees on anything. I've been there for ages - there has to my knowledge been three things that everyone agreed on: SCW is a cockfag, BOD is a whinging twat, and Matt Dunning is a pisstake.
I realise some of you are bitter about that place, and I really hope it's more that no-one wants to point a finger trans-forum, but ffs the moment you lump the Fern in as a whole is the moment you lose the plot. [/rant]
Nice rant. Pity you had to invent some "facts" for a target. Just where did I "lump the Fern in as a whole".
If you care to look, the ".. and my mates" was taken from a post (just above mine) by a kiwi.
UnZidders are world class in lumping.
That's my lumping challenge
