Riki Flutey heading home from Japan:

"Flutey has signed a one-year contract to play for the Wellington Lions in this year's national provincial championship and set himself the goal of securing a Hurricanes Super Rugby contract in 2015."

Cipriani likely to start 1st Test due to Farrell & Ford both being injured. Not sure how many of that lot are involved in the Aviva final therefore won't arrive until mid-week of 2nd Test.

DomPost article quoted on stuff.co.nz:

"It is understood current Wellington Lions and New Zealand under-20s coach Chris Boyd and former Hawke's Bay and Highlanders assistant coach Peter Russell, who has returned from a stint with Newcastle, were both interviewed for the Hurricanes job last week.

The Hurricanes board is due to meet tomorrow with an announcement on Hammett's replacement expected next month."

My money's on Boyd HC with Russell as AC, I believe they've worked together before?

Also "April" has ruled himself out of being HC as he has a gig with Samoa through to RWC 2015.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Boyd/Russell team Waiopehu, but not sure Russell would come home for assist gig.

Zac Guildford's contract with NZ Rugby has been terminated, effective immediately.

It sounds like he may have gone off the rails again as the statement makes mention of off field issues but he was already off to Clermont in France so maybe this brought that forward.

I'm guessing it was brought forward because he hasn't been getting any game time with the Crusaders so why bother holding him back from joining Clermont?

Crusaders cut him loose a week or so ago as he wasn't getting game time & wasn't happy playing club & Development XV footy. NZRU terminating him is a formality that has to happen so he can join Clermont prior to Super Rugby wrapping up.

The off-field issues reference is past-tense rather than something that's happened recently. The door's not fully closed though, he'll still be under 30 when his Clermont contract finishes so another crack at Super Rugby or even AB isn't out of the question.

Bogan Barrett should be rested for this one vs Auckland, last thing NZ rugby needs before facing the steroid-enraged Pomgolians next week is for him to get both his legs and his face broken during one of the numerous polynesian basketball blitzkriegs we are all about to witness here this fine afternoon

For sure, but if Proctor hooks it back or up instead of down the pass doesn't go to hand. Anyhoo, Blues in again out wide this time 15-7.

Agree but the fact is the ref has to decide that the player deliberately knocked it on because that was his only way of stopping the pass even if he could've stopped it legally.
