I reckon Sir was about to call penalty Clan & got talked out've it by his TMO. And he'd have been right, sure Jordan got all kinds of interfered with but he still could've avoided the aerial contact.

Nisbo in Comms so that can only mean TJ gets tomorrow night's game.......

The highlanders were so on. It Was a great game to watch. If we could have an Aaron Smith filter it would be even better. Surely nothing else emits sound at that frequency?

Well well well, geez I love this game ! Today I got to go to club rugby in Stratford, then come home and watch a team that says stuff it who said we can't bloody win. Great , I really enjoyed it.

Well, that was an unexpected pleasant beautiful goddamn fucking surprise. The Cantabs, at home, collapse in a pile of their own hubristic overconfidence

Golden Boy Will Jordan was very, very goddamn ordinary. Better not be that alarmingly casual in black. Once the Rolls Royce pack was sputtering in retreat the kid had no clue.

Good game from Manbun Gregory. Some rock solid defensive moments

LOL@Gorge Bridge

1st hour felt like the Cantabs just had to switch on for 10 mins and that'd be enough to run in a coupla of tries which wouldve seen them home. Never did switch on

TL/DR; watching the Cantabs disintegrate into rudderless panic, at home, with alllll their All Blacks all over the field, couldve been one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my whole goddamn life.

Post mortem:

About the only positive I can find is that CruSadists rarely play that badly twice in a season!

Maximum respect to Clan but CruSadists were guilty, again & as is becoming almost an annual event, of trying to play dry-track footy on what wasn't a dry track: pissed down in CheeChee all day & only cleared up a short time before KO. Wasn't exactly a weather bomb event, either, so they had plenty of time to plan accordingly. OK so that's the rubbish performance for 2021 outta the way, bring on the next victims.....

Meanwhile Joe Wheeler took his class clown persona a tad far post-match & is copping plenty on social media:

Will no doubt be made to appear on each & every one of Sky's rugby shows & self-flagellate.

I am pretty impressed with the Clan's defence last night. As DP said Gregory didn't back off and a highlight was him just taking Blackadder head on just a couple of metres from line, I was waiting for him to get bounced. Thought the Clan's starting tight five showed up to play, and then Harmon, Frizzell and Himeno were pretty effective. As KiwiM says the one two punch at 9 was a thing to behold, by gee Fakatava is just reminding everyone that maybe he could have quite a future in the game! Hunt was maybe MOTM, but the midfeild and outside backs were't bad were they? Umaga-Jensen I thought looks to be comfortable at thie level, and Garden-Bachop showing that there 2 barrel names that are ok.
:D As you can see I was pleased with Clans result. as it almost goes along with what I say, if there dominant team out there , don't weaken them, just improve to their standard.

The stand-out for me was how hard the Highlanders went at the ruck and tackle. In an average Kiwi game a lot of these are conceded to let the players get up and back in the line. Not this time and I think it helped put the Crusaders off their game.

Fakatava is NEXT. Doesnt seem to have Afterdavids bullet pass but everything is on the front foot and he is unrelenting, brave, and has great instincts and spatial awareness.
Is Hunt capped? Feel like he could be a 100 game player for one of those NZ player nurseries like Ireland or Wales.

He made some fantastically quick instinctive decisions in the match.

As for his higher level aspirations, sadly, he is only 3-feet tall.

Dalton Chadali'i has come out breathing fire with three turnovers in the first six minutes.

FFS what a morbid drag this 1st 30 has been.

Clueless Blues back to their disdainful hatred of rugby form

Rieko Ioane is where backline plays go to die. Still very much a winger pesting around at centre for mine. I've no idea how good Tanielu Teleʻa is -- a rookie 21 y/o centre -- but he's looking increasingly more viable on the basis that he is not Rieko Ioane. Hell, we'd probably go better with Akira at centre. At least he'd run over and around a few guys out there.

JBar must be crocked, no way you want Leger putting it out just inside the 22 when JBar gets you to the 5 (unless he kicks it dead :))
