NPC Final will be an afternoon kickoff for the first time in a looong time. If Wellington host it'll be on Sunday as there's a WXV double-header at Sky Stadium on Saturday but if it's 'naki or Cantabs it'll be Saturday. Personally I think it should be Sunday regardless but maybe a little later with the Lochore & Meads Cup Finals preceeding. Say midday LC, 2pm MC, 4pm NPC.

Will have my harden up pills on Friday night and be at Yarrows Stadium, and if the mighty Naki win I will be cheering for the Bay on Saturday so we get final. Like you WOB think Sunday would be better day for it, but not a biggy.
I pretty keen on the Naki team for tomorrow night, probably strongest we can field with the exception maybe of Crowley being injured at 9, but even then not a lot between him and Lennox.

C'mon the Naki

Interesting, Bradley Slater playing his 50th game for the Naki, he only needs another 132 to have as many as his father!

Yehaa the Naki, geez I enjoyed that game, was bloody fun! Now c'mon Hawkes Bay, I want a home final.
Hell even Mrs Dan was jumping around yelling last night, and covering eyes etc when Naki Perofeta was kicking for goal to take us out to 7 point lead near eand. I love this game!!!!

Josh Jacomb looks like a future star. He's had a really good season
Bang on mate, be surprised if noone is looking at signing him in a super team. Would be a good buy for any of Canes (yes please) Clan especially or even Crusaders who have lost Burke, or even Blues. The only one perhaps not in NZ is Chiefs who have plenty of 10 cover. Would potentially be a good pick up for any Aus team too (I hope not though)

Windy Wellington living up to it's moniker tonight, hopefully it doesn't get up to the 204 km/h recorded earlier today down in Cantabland! Edit: Le Bons Bay on Banks Peninsula, to be precise.

Talk about conflicted...

I love Sunday arvo footy.

I dislike Wellington.

Wellington win = Sunday arvo footy which they might win.

Wellington lose = no Sunday arvo footy but also no Wellington.

But..

No Sunday arvo footy =/= no Sunday arvo beers.

Therefore...

I dislike Wellington more than I love Sunday arvo footy.

Edit: sounds like TJ dislikes Wellington as much if not more than I do...

Classic game of two halves in Greymouth, all 43 points scored by the team with the gale behind them. Coasters prevail 23-20 to pick up their first ever National trophy (as opposed to the regional Seddon Shield).

No doubt @Dan54 will share his sideline-eye thoughts in due course (I'm going with a riff on "bloody good game") but looked like a great afternoon of footy from what I was able to see of it whilst giving the corner of the shop where the tv is possibly the most thorough clean it's ever had...

Yep @waiopehu oldboy , it was not only "a bloody good game" ;) , but also a surpberb advert for our game, and sport in general. Good crowd most seemingly in high spirits from start to finish, incredibly tense with everythingin balance until final whitle. Even thehalftime entertainment was great, they got a lot of the mascots (well suits) from around countr and they were lined up for a 100m sprint. Throw in a few fellas in those balloon like suits running blocks .Good fun!
Also have to say not getting ripped off badly with a drink and food also helps, $5 for chips, burgers at about $8-10 and can of craft beer at $9 makes it easier fow families etc.

^ there was a brief moment I thought Magpies were going to steal some more shiny stuff but 'nail were worthy winners on the day & will hopefully take better care of the Cup than HB did the Shield...

Also, I'll re-state my unalterable position that the only thing better than Saturday arvo footy is Sunday arvo footy when the nearest pub(s)/ Club(s) have a late licence & Monday is either a holiday or RDO (& boss doesn't really expect me to be of much use on Tuesday :))

NZHurld reporting that Wellington's home ground for NPC 2024 will be Jerry Collins Stadium (Porirua) rather than Sky Stadium. Wouldn't be surprised if other big Unions follow suit. TV-quality lights will obviously be the determining factor.

Dan54

David Wilson (68)
@WOB, sounds great, wonder if they will put up tv quality lights down at the Hub in Hawera, save me a drive to New Plymouth.

I know it's not provincial, but pleased to see last week I have received the club draw for the Nali club comp next year, well for 1st, 2nd and colts as the 3rds are done closer to comp with confirmation of teams, as there are basically 3rd grad from all prem clubs plus the country clubs like Kaponga, Patea ,Toko,Okie etc etc that may struggle to field a team
