It appears Mighty 'nua tipped over Thames Valley yesterday thereby locking in a Lochore Cup SF, potentially at home if they get past West Coast next week.

Interesting NPC QF lineup:

Wellington v Counties-Maukau = Jonah Lomu Trophy rematch (not sure if it's up for grabs but Wellys will be wanting payback for their recent pantsing).

Taranaki v Waikato = intra-Tribal warfare.

Tasman v Cantabs = Crusader bragging rights.

Bay of Plenty v Hawkes Bay = who's the best Bay?

Bang on WOB, the line ups are great, we finally know who is the Bay for the year!!
I will be at Yarrow for the inter-tribal match, those bloody Waikato came down here in 18th century and we have long memories here in the Naki!! Get your own Maung Waikato!;)
Best thing I can watc the 2 oclock game before heading up to New Plymouth next Saturday!!

LOL 'nua v WC is a Lochore Cup SF it's just that provincial.rugby haven't updated the Heartland page since Round 7

@Dan54 I saw a kid being interviewed on Heartland Rugby last night: surname Laursen, first name something like Brayden, who looked more like Don than Craig so I'm guessing possibly a grandson?

Anyway QF weekend yeehaa. Go the Naki, off up to New Plymouth tomorrow and sorry WOB , won't be cheering for Waikato, though that not a bad team they rolling out.

Probably Craigs ? I think he had a son Brayden who has already played for Wellington , and I think still playing club stuff , so may have dad's name.
Think Craig and Brayden got building company on Kapiti Coast.

Funny Don was someone who gave my son big lesson in his first game for Athletic Senior A,s many years back, son was 15 and Don screaming down sideline slowed and beat him a beauty, son reckon he had hin covered if only Bogie MacLeod had let him know he was covering in field. Always remember it!

Me either. A 'naki win means i can repay some of the shit i copped for the Shield loss.

I suspect SMac will have a slightly different recollection of that...

No doubt mate. As I said to son, ne excuses anyway, never give someone with Don's pace a chance! He always reckons that Bogie was one of the real fun guys to play with.
Actually his first game of senior rugby was marked by (well just a little part of it) being beaten by Don, and his last game of senior as a 21 yo (before he went overseas) he was beaten by one Christian Cullen! Reckons he still doesn't know where Cullens legs went, he went into tackle, as he closed his arms there were no legs there.o_O And funily enough he was in general a bloody great defender/tackler.

Geez missed the game WOB tied up wiatching the battle of the Bays. I never thought Swamp Foxes would really pose a big danger for Whanganui.

So the mighty Nua done on the final whistle, as were Soth Canterbury huh? Geez there some exciting matches being played in Heartland, as well as NPC.
Was up at Yarrow Stadium for Naki/Waikato game. Waikato deserved winners, Naki boys looked a little flat in first half (shield hangover?) but certainly missed I thought Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens and Boshier, but certainly not excuse for losing, as Waikato played bloody well.

I think the SF format is now highest qualifier v lowest which would make it:

Wellington v Waikato
Bay Of Plenty v Canterbury

I also think Sky schedule the matches rather than the top qualifier choosing so on that basis I'd assume Wellington will get the Saturday night slot.

Edit:

"Bay of Plenty, who won their quarter-final at the death against Hawke’s Bay yesterday, will host the semifinal on Saturday afternoon.

"Wellington, the top seeds, will host the other semifinal against Waikato on Saturday night."
