17-5 Aus 16's after a mid-half water break
Rugbyfootyguy,Well Glazer,
I myself was curious on not only how these under 17's were selected but also where the big names such as Grover, Hartman or even Bassingthwaighte are. Turns out some of those boys are over in Auckland for the global youth sevens and other boys have league commitments. Although I can assure you these under 17's will give them a run for their money. After doing research a lot of these boys have actually played NSW footy before in younger years meaning they have experience and are all around great footy players. Both Ben Sawyer and Harrison Dene played five-eight 3 years ago in the Under 15 Gen Blue side, and I haven't seen them at a high level of footy since that. And of course new comers such as Kobi Mendel and Tom O'hara are in the sqaud by no mistake.
Honestly I can see the game going either way but I hope people understand this under 17's side isn't just a bunch of random players they needed to fill in the missing big names.
Rugbyfootyguy, out

Ib is a bit outdated in 2024All of New's smart lads do the IB.
Good to see Grammar back up there. Now if only they can only get their rugby right.
I think a couple of lean years ahead for Grammar rugby, particularly with the current headmasters' total focus on academics and distinct dislike for rugbyAll of New's smart lads do the IB.

What do the old boys think of that? I had heaps of Grammar friends I played rugby against back in the 1980s and they fielded pretty competitive teams.I think a couple of lean years ahead for Grammar rugby, particularly with the current headmasters' total focus on academics and distinct dislike for rugby
Grammar's rugby is right. Sport as a complement to education, unlike the rest of the GPS.All of New's smart lads do the IB.

So a very narrow set of perennial favourites play 12 months a year. The northern hemisphere laughs. So whatHope your'e on the mend @Joker
For those that continue to say our juniors don't play enough please note these games as well as the 7s program development games. The guys from 15-18 are playing 12 months a year now and getting to that 20+ games a season quite easily.
Can't keep blaming senior pro results on our kids. It's the professional side of the community that have dropped the ball. Hopefully (won't hold my breath) RA's 5 year plan can begin to create continuity of development through this level into our professional sides.
1200 academically selected boys. It would be embarrassing if they didn’t do well in the HSC. 1200 isn’t small, it larger than Joey and ViewSGS these days is a very different cohort to 20 years ago.. it's also as GPS schools go small - only 1200 boys at the Senior campus.
Shore has 1200 in the senior schoolSGS these days is a very different cohort to 20 years ago.. it's also as GPS schools go small - only 1200 boys at the Senior campus.
Joeys 47 Wallabies.....Grammar's rugby is right. Sport as a complement to education, unlike the rest of the GPS.
That's why Sydney Grammar still has the most Wallaby Captains out of all Australian schools (7 for Grammar vs 3 for Joeys), more Olympic Rowing medallists than SHORE and much more.
