Clearly he was well reformed then if a different polo shirt had him stepping out of line.

I hope it's only his captaincy he loses..we were talking about that prospect last week before Bealegate came to light anyway..Slipper likely to be our millionth captain in 2 years I'd say.

Although he could have come out with the political speak 'there is a system dealing with that' when the journo bailed him up at the airport luggage carousel and asked him if Beale should be sacked, I think he was caught off guard and he was hardly going to outright say 'yes'..more inexperience shining through, but also possibly an indication that this is far from over when KB (Kurtley Beale)'s verdict is delivered.

Well, if we are judging people by performance,Link is in more trouble than KB (Kurtley Beale).

On field results suggest he is under performing.

Off the field,it appears he has been incompetent in his management of the relationship between his squad and the person he appointed to be their team manager.(assuming reports of his calling a meeting in Turin then ignoring the feedback are correct)

And the statements by Hooper at the airport seem to me to be more than just his personal view. I suspect that the players have galvanised behind Beale - the questions Hooper received would hardly have been unexpected. I wouldn't think he would have made those comments if he didn't think he had the support of most if not all of the playing group.

Where this leaves Link is anyone's guess.

Cyclo, let's not get carried away. Beale spent a season there. And apparently by June he was already stepping out of line.
I'm not getting carried away, just putting a different slant on things. They all had a good relationship, it seems, at the Tahs, and this most likely has influenced their opinion of Beale.
I thought I made it pretty clear it shouldn't have.
None of what I wrote should be interpreted as supportive of Beale, nor the support he has been shown by Waratah team-mates.
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Hooper are not dunces, so I was trying to get an idea of the process for them.

I don't think he was caught off guard at all. Unless he's spent the last week on Mars he must have known what sort of questions to expect. I'd be very surprised if he was the only player in the group who thinks this - astonished in fact.

Hooper has never been a great leader. A poor decision maker and immature. This is a perfect example of both of these things.

His captaincy has to go and unless he come out and unreservedly eats a plate of crow, he has to be playing in France by the end of the week.

The ARU needed to act swiftly on all this. Any other workplace in Australia would have this resolved by now.

Hooper probably just added another zero to any settlement with Patston, should she go the route.

The Waratahs went ok with him as captain didn't they?

I went down with some mates for a kick today.. Screw the lot of em I'm perfectly capable of losing to the all blacks. Ill pull my songs up and there will be no need for some one to butch our national anthem I'll belt that bad boy out.

Make me captain

I was more talking about Cheika's influence. Even Todd Carney managed year long stints out of trouble.

Undoubtedly, he knew that question was going to be asked,I'm equally confident that he has taken on board plenty of advice on how to answer that question.
Makes the answer a very big statement IMO.

Perhaps in your world Patston would also be captain of Wobs... as well as Coach and team manager, why not throw in CEO of ARU simultaneously juggling the prime ministership.

He hasn't had any trouble at the Tahs I don't think..it's purely a wallaby thing for some reason..

EDIT: I just went back through the trail to this reply and realise that's kinda what you were talking about

My take on this now is Link to step down after Suncorp. (I'm not saying that this should happen - but it seems to be heading that way)

Hooper supporting beale because he was one of the players that received this muppets text message. And wants this over quickly so he dosent get dragged into this. ;)

As mentioned, this is turning into the best thread ever....

Rams, Rebels, wallabies. It's a purely Kurtley thing.

Big call about the thread, the Quade one was good. And there was that one where Bruce was cutting loose on Totality Tony, some special posts in that one.

Apparently a number of players received them. I'm sure you realise that though.
