Given the nature of the news stories (Wallabies in disarray, player revolt etc) I am amazed that Michael Hooper or AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) or Horwill or ANY player haven't fronted the media to give the standard 'we fully support Link' statement.

Spiro has just attacked Horwill for sticking up for link. says he has a me first attitude instead of a team first.

Horwill did last week, after the plane incident, though it could've been as much about Deans book as anything else.

that would be completely ill advised and any PR company offering this strategy would likely be sacked.

the absolute clusterfudge going on requires as an absolute minimum for your PR/comm strategy minimise contact points, restrict the number of people and always look to mitigate damage. which means pick a message, pick your voices and batten down the hatches.

Given Pulver's undisguised disgust at the "image" that KB (Kurtley Beale) sent, I am sure that he will be as equally strong in his disgust at Quade Coopers own recommendation provided to a twitter follower in the bad old days - Quade recommended a follower to check out a NSFW site and then enthusiastically endorsed the sites premium content..... That wasn't a text or whatsapp message to a group of mates but a twitter / tweet to the general public.....

But of course Quade has changed since then and the environment is significantly less toxic in the Ewen world.

Horwill came out in support of Ewens excellent (pre wobs) coaching record and of course to audition himself for the big (C) role , perhaps he shoudl have considered the team last year rather than play the third test injured - a real leader would have made the tough decision.......

Long time listener only very occasionally a caller....

I'm not sure a corporate strategy like this works 100% of the time in rugby.

The more the players are silent the more the press will fill the silence with their own theories and gossip.

I'm not saying you need every player out there, but I think it is appropriate for the current captain to reiterate his support for the coach and try and shift the focus back towards the rugby itself.

Wait - are you having a crack at Pulver, Quade, Horwill, Ewen, or the whole lot of them? Didn't Kurtley do something too?

How long have you had that Quade story in your back pocket for, just itching to bring it up? Here's a tip, on the top right hand side of the page, there is a search function. Search for "Quade telling it how it is".

Fuck me, you lot will lash out at anything!

Well, in the end Rugby is the loser this week. But we can turn this short term pain around if in the long term it helps the team become more cohesive.

Really not sure how this will play out in Bled III. I hope it will galvanise them to play to their potential. But it could just easily go the other way if they can't get it together in 8 days. The KB (Kurtley Beale) deal hanging over the teams head until early next week isn't ideal. I would like them get it sorted quickly and give the team some clear air.

Yeah agree with Iltw, considering Link vehemently denied he'd known about the texts previously - if found out he has, he's lied to the everyone.

who gives a shit if he knew, the root of the problem is Kurtley..

I really want Kurtley to succeed because i think he is a great ambassador for rugby union in Australia, but he just continually gives people reasons to question his suitability to wear the Wallaby jersey and represent Australia.

It stopped being about KB (Kurtley Beale),when it came out that Link gave him a free pass in June.
Link has obligations to look after employees that report to him.there is an employee on stress leave pretty much as a result of his failure to act in June.
Don't blame me, I'm just saying that is how the workplace works in 2014.
If he has been caught out lying about it in the press, uncle Bill pretty much has to bone him.

So over on my side of the ditch the only thing that was covered from the Link news conference was a question about whether he had had an affair with the business manager woman. Was anything relevant to actual rugby covered in that conference or are the knives out now for Link?

btw this thread might totally encapsulate the internet in a single discussion.

Link denies giving him a free pass. The source that leaked the apparent free pass needs to come good publicly. Call me naive but i am happy to believe him until we get more than heresay.
