IB wasn't having a crack at him, he was just curious how a dyed-in-the-wool Saffa from Paarl ended up with us lot. There was no offense.

It might happen where there is one grab at the head head on the way through: but I've never seen a guy have 3 goes, all above the head and all of them with an illegal entry to the ruck area.
Why wouldn't the Assistant (huh - there's a joke) ref call it in....thats what the frigging mikes are for

Bryce is notorious for ignoring the assistants.....many a time when the calls have gone through and he does not respond.

The Mormons keep knocking on Chez Jarse front door. We are not a Mormon household.

Mostly they get a short shrift as I generally can't be bothered with them, sometimes we play the We're Buddhist card, and Senior Junior Jarse once had the poor buggers attempting to convert him from Druidism for about an hour.

Despite all this, and I'm sure the record their impressions of the residents of Chez Jarse in their address database, they still keep coming back for more.

Perhaps the same here.

Don't get me started on the fun I have with Telemarketers! After one very extended call, when I was bored and had some real fun with him. the manager eventually called me the most infuriating person he had ever dealt with.

He certainly did have a crack at getting him away. Pocock has some serious center of gravity going on.

Erm, he's got his arms locked around the Springbok player he's lying on. That's not really centre of gravity.

The guys an immovable object at any and every breakdown he gets to. I was having a lighthearted approach at this as the game is over, but as stated before Pocock not supporting his own weight isn't the offence we're talking about.

I always cringe when Captains moan about a ref. Fucken cop it. You could have scored more points you muppet.

However. Lawrence has been so shite and most people on here agree about that.

John is retiring and I think he couldn't help himself but have a swing.

He will probably regret it later but if it contributes to Lawrence never ever handling a whistle again we all gain.

As for Burger, he did some stupid shit in the past but I think he lost his head in that clip. Has that tendency.

He has a lot of haters and prob deserves that so he'll be around for you guys to have a bitch about for another four years so get used to it.

Jeez this thread has some anger in it for the supporters of a team that should be celebrating.

Personally I can differentiate from the joy of winning, and the anger of seeing such dangerous foul play.

I don't see how one affects the other.

I recall that now you mention it - perhaps he's deaf, in which case why dont they hook him up with a buzzer arrangement that puts a bit of current through him (say a lazy 10,000 volts) when there's an infringement of which he should take note.

For what?

Radike Samo - Dangerous tackle - No arms / shoulder charge on Bryan Habana.

James Horwill - Dangerous tackle - High tackle / choke on Willem Alberts

Dan Vickerman - (1.) Dangerous play - Charge on Heinrich Brussouw;
(2.) Dangerous play - Charge on Jannie du Plessis.

What do you mean? There is every chance that Schalk Burger will be the next Springbok captain.

Correct. Being a filthy player like Burger does not exclude him from being the Springbok captain. Corne Krige was a 24 carat dirty nutter. It's a pity that Burger is like that on the field because he is apparently a great bloke off it. They say much the same about Richard Loe, also an eye gouger, amongst other things.

I said Burger is filthy because he has been suspended for eye gouging before and the touch judge who reported it to referee Berdos should have said "red card" when asked his opinion of the sanction when the Boks played the Lions. Instead he said: "At least a yellow." The TJ was B.Lawrence. Were it not for that you could give him the benefit of the doubt on Sunday - but not any more.

What his right hand was doing raking across Pocock's face looked literally criminal. To anybody who queries "Are you sure he was eye gouging?", as they do, I would answer that "I'm sure he was raking his face and that is very close to where his eyes are."

SAffer journalists can whinge to the cows come about the illegalities that Pocock wrought at the ruck, but they won't mention this incident unless Burger is cited, and then they will discount it.

Not quite to the point but they won't mention either that when the Aussies defeated the Boks in Durban when B.L. had the whistle it was like Rafferty's Rules at the ruck and the Aussies expected the same in Wellington and they were right and played to it. The Boks didn't, and even though the excellent Brussouw went off after 20 minutes they should have done their homework knowing how weak B.L. is at ruck time and contested accordingly.

IIRR B.L. didn't even penalise Burger in that incident notwithstanding that he was offside after his first effort as he should have got up and returned to last feet after he went to ground. And/or he should have been pinged for being on the ground and grabbing an opponent.

Even Rodney So'oialo, the arch loiter in opponent's space, would have gasped at the audacity of what Burger did, and I'm not talking about his fingers.

Paarl is a foundation member of The Yellow Scarf, formed by refugees from the Silver Fern (obviously mostly Aussies), which was then absorbed by G&GR. He is like furniture.
i really like the fact that Paarl and blue and bullrush and all the other international guys post on GAGR, gives a different view from my Gold tinted glasses. That said, I still have no idea what half the south african words they use mean. Anyone wan't to do a quick lexicon for me?

I'll go with the process on this one. Everyone who should have been cited was cited.

I didn't think the Vickerman one on Brussow was deliberate. I thought Brussow copped a stray knee to the head after he'd fallen on the wrong side of the ruck. Maybe you could have an argument about the way Vickerman joins rucks but I really don't believe it was the case this time. (this is just going off what I remember from game day). I still reckon the main reason Brussow went off was he got hurt trying to tackle Pocock. He never looked right after that.

Provide some evidence and we'll discuss it. So far we've seen footage of Vickerman and Samo and in both cases arms were involved.

Regardless, what's your point? Would Australia have had to play an infringement free game for us to discuss a blatant, repeated eye-gouge attempt? This thread is not a catalogue of incidents in the game, it's a discussion about a specific incident for which evidence has been provided - why dont you give us your opinion on it?
