Same fans would have jumped on board if we beat the all blacks and the bokkie like that.

It was looked at poor because we think the French are rubbish..

It was poor because it was poor. In fact it was utter garbage.

This old article from Dublingate shows the roots of the vendetta which has now been executed.

Easy to draw disparate points together and draw conclusions - but - What Vendetta? Look at the Players, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), TPN, Cummins, Liam Gill - not exactly the first players to come to mid when one considers "unreasonable Player Power" - more like part of the Core of whatever Culture the Wallaby Camp has left...

Not even a group drawn primarily from one state...

The old adage "the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour" seems to ring as true as ever.

Anyone know the date when the tribunal/commission delivers its findings on this saga?

Still can't get over how shit making that decision must've been for him. Some say to never meet your heroes, perhaps Ewen should have taken the same advice for the job he had dreamed of having for so long.

So, the team flies out on Friday which means a new coach has to be appointed post haste............

That leaves very few options, so I think it's fair to say we're fucked.

It can't be Cheika, and I doubt it'll be White.

There's also a strong possibility they'll have to promote Blades in the interim.

Oh and institute a strict no dickheads policy. Zero tolerence. Get it players, don't like it or don't think you can actually be a professional, then go now you will be granted a release from any contract with no prejudice.

Can we make this a global rule for the ARU? Maybe they could employ an external "dickhead consulting firm" to try and fix this mess, because they sure as hell can't sort it out themselves.

God this shit has me fuming. I thought the loss to the Lions and the sacking of Deans was rock bottom, how wrong I was.

What a fucked up organisation we have running what was once one of the greatest Australian sporting sides of all time. How can you possibly let such a previously successful brand (wallabies) and code of football implode so spectacularly. It is honestly a national disgrace and the serious questions need to be asked about the people who clearly aren't doing their fucking job.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). His mum rings a radio station the next day to complain how unfair it is. "He's being picked on because he's senior". Heard of Buck Shelford? Drew Mitchell tweets how unfair it is too, talks about bitching behind peoples back. Talk of rift against "dobbers" (Mowen, Moore, Horwill?). Some people take their medicine, others hold a grudge. Others with a fondness for the sauce bottle aren't on the tour but take his side...

Fat Cat.
A fair few others in the other 9 who were disciplined.

But my main point were Ewen's words - the fact that he was trying to establish a culture. I think now the principal reason he has left is that the ARU were unwilling to back him in coming down hard on the players and achieving an AB level of discipline. "Oh go easy on them, we don't want them to leave" etc. Patson was there to help with culture and discipline (as successfully done at the Reds) and some people took umbrage to that.

Did you even read the Article...?

Hardly a behind-the-scenes scenario or some vendetta:

"... Adam Ashley-Cooper, one of two players' representatives on the Brumbies board, was involved in the decision to sack Andy Friend as Brumbies coach...

What made Ashley-Cooper's position especially awkward was that he had made it clear to the Brumbies that his concerns over Friend's coaching was one of the issues he was weighing up in deciding whether to remain in Canberra or move to Sydney to join the Waratahs next season.
"I'm not certain that was his principal issue by any means, but it was one of the issues," Fagan told The Australian yesterday....

Ashley-Cooper, who re-signed with the ARU last month but curiously left open his Super Rugby playing options, did not take a leading role in the board meeting on Tuesday morning to hear Fagan's briefing on the situation and then to decide whether to terminate Friend's position, but nor did he disqualify himself.
"He was asked if the coaching was an issue for him and he said it was," Fagan said.

What do you want him to do - Lie? I normally don't mind this bloke as a journo, but that is some seriously loose writing, and you have quoted it completely out of context... Of coure he was 'involved' he was one of two players reps on the board, FFS! - and why would he need to disqualify himself - it is precisely the type of discussion they have players Reps for!

Piss-poor journalism.

I detest the Brumbies - but quoting that article as evidence that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is part of some vendetta is utter crap.

Can't blame a bloke for his Mums' phone calls - but I totally agree with the second-half of your post... Link is gone because the ARU won't support him in cleaning-out the dead-wood.

Man I hate that this has happened. I don't know the whole thing but I can't help but think the media has made this whole thing 99% what it is. Link was awesome for the wallabies.
I'd hate to see White get the job......he allready bailed in a hissy fit the first time and left the brumbies in the lurch

If there was nothing going on,there would be nothing for the media to report.
Link was not awesome for the Wallabies.
He admits he lost the support of his players in record time, and results were poor.
That is not awesome.

Having said that,he went out with dignity, and you could not help but to feel for him at the end.

Gotta love Burke don't you. Massive grin on his face telling the everyone that will listen that he thinks Cheiks is great but why would he want it at the moment, ya know. Next breath talking up Bernie Larkham as someone they should look at. Well TGC has won Heineken Cups and a Super Rugby title. But let's throw Larkham under the bus next after 1 year in charge of a Super Rugby team.

never seen genia do aimless, useless box kicks in his career.:D

all this concentration on whites last kick. Nothing about his long range penalty to get us in with a shot.

Do I like stupid box kicks? hate 'em. It just seems a bit harsh to slate the entire fault down to white in this case.

goddamn, it was a bloody fantastic game. Honestly, who would not have taken this result if it were offered to you before the game? I was only hoping we would not be on the end of a thirty point hiding. That the game (not talking about the score now) was one of sufficient quality to be remembered as a 'goodun' was just icing on the cake. That it happened after the turmoil of the last few weeks made it even more memorable.

That ewen resigned after, well goddamn, you'd be fired as a hollywood scriptwriter if you dared submit a plot like this.

There are almost no winners here. Look at us, the fans. Some are 'resigning' in disgust (after a brilliant game last night), so even we cannot get enjoyment from that game. there are so many who have lost on a personal level, Di, now ewen. Aus rugby did not win.

All I hope is that after so much despair something good comes from it.

I wasn't referring to White's kick. More referring to someone taking hold of the game and getting the piggies in the right spot.
