Totally agree Loboz-Gonzales is just one of a number of players that the so called 1st XV coaches are ignoring, but that's nothing new with the Waverley rugby culture, they don't believe in rewarding players who perform, they consider it a priviledge to play in the 1st XV and once selected at the start of the season they remain there until injured.

yes he is just one of the players being ignored. based on the weekends performance the flanker, outside centre and scrumhalf also deserve a shot at gametime in the 1sts. however this problem isnt just secluded to waverley. there were players in aloys 2's who potentially outplayed their peers for a 1sts jersey.

Agree, and that's the problem with schoolboy rugby. Reality sets in if and when they play colts.

I totally agree with giving guys who are performing a run, the no.9 from last week in the 2nds has been going real well, i beleive he was playing no.10 prior to that. Also the no.13, however he has hampered his chances with a stupid straight red in the finishing stages of last weeks game

Oliver "Moon" Stackpole for a firsts run this week for Waverley.
His form and respect from fellow peers and Coach Frost (aoooorrrrrrr) has indicated he will be bumped straight up into the Yellow Double V for this weeks game against Brooky

talk of waverley's lack of promotion of seconds players seems to create rather a huge parallel from the so called "no depth" this squad supposedly had at the seasons start. From what i have seen so far this season having watched predominantly eastern suburbs games the waverley team has been down several players in recent weeks particularly in the forwards but have continued a strong start to the season, the centers seem to play a league based style of defence but played particularly well against a fighting alo's side. CAS selection if going on form should be dominated by Trinity and Waverley but in saying this no doubt Barker and Knox will have plenty selected wouldnt be suprised if a few "darkhorses" from the Alo's squad made the cut. This weekend should decide the final teams with big match ups particularly in the Waverley V Cranbrook game the tight five fighting for possible positions in CAS 2's. It would be a shame if Brown was out as it would have made for an exciting battle in the midfield between Waverleys roaming loose forwards Spurr and Johnson and the power that Brown possesses as a ball runner.

i think this is a problem not just limited to waverley and alloy but to the whole CAS with many players of a first xv standard playing 2's not being given adequate opportunity from the coaching staff in the 1's throughout CAS and its quite sad to see many players have to give up their hopes and aspirations because a coach wont give them a lookout

Agree, some even give the game away after leaving school or play league instead, it's a shame that there is so much politics in junior rugby.

Max "Bwax" Maddison's stunning performance as halfback for the Waverley seconds last week will definately put him in contention for a CAS seconds jersey.
Rumours heard in the staffroom that he is to do pathways next year in order to be the foundations of the Waverley First XV outfit for 2012

Brown definately has a strong running game that should be shut down. No disrespect to Spurr but i think the real matchup is johnson and brown. Johnson also has a strong, league based running style aswell as solid defense. Hopefully Brown is playing this weekend, and if waverley perform in the standards of last week cranbrook will make it a close game.

Word from Cranbrook that Brown is out again due to the injury to his ankle re-surfacing on the weekend. Hopefully he will be back in time for the Scotts college game.
Watching the game it was clear that having the previous outside at fullback and brown at 13 made a huge difference. Cranbrook looked threatening in attack with this setup. However with Brown leaving the field injured, coupled with injuries from the 2nds meant Cranbrook was not able to play an attacking game, as such letting the game go and losing 10-15 in the final stages of the game. This was mainly due to the extremely defensive stance Cranbrook took in the time directly after they led the game 10-8. This defensive stance arguably cost them the game. If Cranbrook had the confidence to attack and take more chances the outcome would have been extremely different, hopefully they will attempt to take more chances in future games and start to score points.
The standouts for Cranbrook were 8 and 1. 1 (P. Cockinos?) played a particularly good game, really standing up for rep honours later in the season, he was effective in both attack and defence and doesnt have a bad set of hands on him. I was surprised to see a new 3 on the field for Cranbrook, I thought the previous prop was a better player to the one who replaced him; could anyone explain this replacement?
Despite all this talk about how good Cranbrook is Barker did play a good game and deserved to win although it was a closely fought game until the end.

i agree the no 1 for cranbrook should be in good contention for a spot in the CAS 1's due to injuries such as talakai in the front row and apparently lawley from knox can play 3 as well very versitile front rowr i also believe the 13 or 15 from cranbrook the left footer should be in the mix for representative honours,
with cam clarke out injured purcell from barker may be a good option for selectors

Word has it that the number 3 on saturday from cranbrook has been dropped. Also, Oliver De Lorenzo, the star fullback from the under 16A's has been named in the team to face waverly this saturday on the wing. It will be interesting to see how he performs.

The fullback Oliver DI Lorenzi for 16as is stepping up for 1s duty this saturday. Cranbrook 16s suprsisingly have some good players, there prop Horten Patch is a large unit and there number 6 corban are all promising players of cas 16s and will all be in contention for south harbour and cas duties and other comments??

also to help further there strike for cas duties 3 horten patch is one of the best throwers in Cas 16s and there 6 or sometimes 7 is the best goal kicker in cas 16s by far dnt think he has missed a goal all season although 15 is by far the most promising player!!

from my team the only player in contention for cas 16s is our 1, 8, maybe 4 and 15 that being knox

3 5 6 and 15 from cranbrook apparently are in cas 16s 2nds and 6 will kick for them cause in 1s clark is the best gk

I've heard this aswell... if so then i think its a good choice. although Cranbrook aren't having the most successful season thus far from all reports i've heard that he is quite a knowledgeable coach and understands schoolboy rugby. I think with a big forward back and a star studded backline he will be able to show his potential as a coach... also heard he may be the NSW under 16s coach???? any confirmation on this?
