I think the Brumbies could put together a very young exciting backline post 2011... assuming Giteau leaves:

9. White
10. To'omua
11. Fainifo/Wara
12. Coleman (if they finally give him a contract) or Lealiifano
13. Stubbs/A Smith
14. McCabe
15. Ashley-Cooper

Lealiifano's form this year alone would have him first picked in that backline. But it's a very promising backline at that.

Watching To'omua today he is growing with every game in the way he controls the game and those around him (though looking a little chubby so most likely bulking and on the weights over the offseason, which will see him with more confidence to cover 12 and 15).

Stubbs is a great prospect also, some of the lines he runs is fantastic and 7's would have done him a world of good. Though I'd still have AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and A Smith ahead of him, with McCabe picking up 15 in AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)'s place.

BR, I've seen him play once and he didnt look small on the field. He actually looked quite big, not tall but looked very solid with a good build. He played alright in that game, but my mate is always raving about how he carves the opposition. We'll have to wait and see if he is telling the truth.

Solid would be the key word there. He has a well filled out frame but not "big". JOC (James O'Connor) would be a similar frame off the top of my head.. similar running game too

The thing is that Wara has good height (184cm/6.1 ft) and will naturally put on 4-5kg in a professional environment. I'm just a bit worried why he didn't end up making it in league....

There was a good article on him in the Canberra times about how he acted like Quade Cooper in a training drill before the Reds game.

I've also found a video on YouTube, which includes him playing for the Brumby Runners this year.

I watched the Woodies play the Beasties yesterday and I immediately noticed how trimmed down Shepheardson was. Got to ask some questions about the strength and conditioning program when the No1 THP prop (at the start of the season) looks fitter and is much m ore effective both in scrum and in the loose than he looked all year at S14 and pre-season level. Huia Edmonds had a good game as well.

Of particular note for Ponies people To'omua's cross field kick for a Beastie's try was point perfect. A telling point for me as a Tah's man was Lachlan Turner outplaying Ryan Cross at 13 all day.

just watched the Sama Waru video, his a good runner but his passing game looks average, just shovels the ball across. Like mentioned already, his defence looks suspect as well, loves to go high on the player similar to Cooper.

Just watched the video myself. His agility and strength in contact are both outstanding. Looks to be a very strong ball carrier to my eye.

I'm hoping that with a good and injury free NPC Lealiifano gets taken on the Spring Tour.

With him benching and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) starting you could quite feasibly name a bench of 5 or 6 forwards. With all the forwards we are blooding this year plus blokes like TPN, Horwill, Alexander and potentially Baxter coming back into the mix next year, using alot of tight 5 subs could be the way to go.

He's got a young family with one of them only 2 months old so I think they'd want to be be settled for a while before moving on. But we'll know more later today.

confirmed, he's signed until the end of 2012. Good for him and the Brums. He played damn well this year.
